Very poor advertising/implementation or the “kids eat free” on Sundays. Arrive and order the food. 2 adults and 2 kids. Eat the food. And get charged for 2 adults and 2 kids. Ask why the “kids eat free” wasn’t offered as advertised. Was told “oh you didn’t order off the kids menu”. I take a good look at the only menu on the table. No kids menu at all. I ask where is the kids menu, to be told “oh there isn’t one. On our iPad we select kids pizza”. Ok so how am I meant to know that?! You also didn’t ask us if we wanted kids pizzas or adult portion. Was told they will refund the kids pizzas due to the misunderstanding. Waiter returns to let us know the owner disagrees and can only offer us an extra free kids pizza next Sunday, if we return and again pay for 2 adults (we don’t need an extra kids pizza. We only have 2 kids). I explain to the waiter they really need to print out a kids menu because it’s false advertising and unfair to patrons who possibly take advantage of the offer who may not usually eat out due to the expense of it. He then shuffles through a box on the counter and shows me a business card explaining the offer is off a kids menu. I point out that again, this card was not on the table and there is no kids menu!!! How are we meant to know there’s a secret kids menu on the iPad, and hidden business cards on their counter explaining the offer? Sorry but this was a very disappointing experience for our family. What a shame as the pizza was delicious but after this experience we will not be back. That is no way to treat customers.
Additional information: the owner reached out to me to rectify the issue and reimburse us for the kids pizzas. He promised to call me to arrange this. Multiple text messages back and forth and absolutely no phone call was ever made. I am truly shocked by the poor customer service of...
Read moreYeah, it's OK. Service wasn't great. It was friendly but not efficient. The food was variable. For me the best thing on the menu was the Zuppa di Pesce. There just wasn't much of it though and I have no idea why it was served with some pizza bread. The share plates to start were generally OK. Nothing special but not disappointing either. The thing that was disappointing was the desert. I had the mousse and it wasn't like any other chocolate mousse that I have ever tasted. The flavour was good but the texture wasn't that of a traditional mousse. I also tried another diner's tiramisu. Now I realise that tiramisu is pretty much different in every Italian restaurant that you go to but this was quite different. Not bad, but not delicious either. The other thing on the menu that we found that was excellent was the wine. Easy to drink and reasonably priced. Danese Rosso Italiano. We were a group of seven on a Saturday night so we were a little surprised when it was made clear to us before 10pm that they wanted us to leave. So if you are looking for somewhere that you can order another bottle of wine after dinner and sit around and chat with friends over another cup of coffee (because the coffee is served in large thimbles) then this place isn't it. Probably won't be back. It...
Read moreTHE GOOD The atmosphere is nice, a bit loud for my liking, but overall fine. Staff are friendly, kind and make you feel special and welcome. Food is good, not outstanding though. My Vongole were a 7/10, the ragout also a 7/10, the Margarita Pizza an 8/10. The garden side salad I also really enjoyed (8/10).
THE BAD I was not a fan of the hard sell type of welcome. We had barely sat down and before we even had the menu, the questions came whether we want some sparkling water to start with, or some light nibbles like some arancini balls or some of this or maybe some of that. Saying yes in that moment would turn out to be an expensive one.
What really was annoying was the time it took for the food to arrive and once it arrived, it did not all come at the same time. From ordering to the first plate was just over one hour, no matter how much you enjoy your company, that's a long time (maybe we should have gone for the expensive yes at the beginning after all). And from the first plate until the last bit arrived, was 10 minutes. After waiting for an hour, then you have your food in front of you and wait for the others for that long, boy, the word torture comes to mind.
Prices are high, too high for what you overall get...
