I have heard sShandong chicken is one of the popular food at this restaurant. Thus, I ordered it take away. Waiting time is about 15'. I will review this restaurant based on food quality, service, atmosphere and price.
Food quality: 3 stars. The skin is not crispy, chicken meat is not soft but i feel like powdery when chewing. Sauce is ok which is mild sour and mild spicy from vinegar and chili.
Service: Chinatown standard service. Asking order, paying money, packing food and done. (No bill for me)
Atmosphere: this restaurant is about 15 tables. Room is not narrow or wide. It is a bit dark when I came here at around 4.30 pm. It is suitable for Asian families styles. The good point is parking area. The car park is free at the opposite side of this restaurant including disability parking.
Price: it is high to compare with other chicken meals at Eastwood restaurants. I got 1/2 Shangdong chicken and paid $26.8 for it.
In general, food is at standard grade. No special tastes. Service is ok. Atmosphere is suitable for Asian style. Location is perfect for parking including disability car park....
Read moreVery bad customer service. We went in to order the lunch special between 2pm-5pm as per their sign outside their shop window. Lunch special prices were around $11.80 and we ordered 3 dishes. When the bill came it was almost double the price at $19.80 X 3 so we asked the lady why she charged so much and she replied it's because you didn't tell us you wanted the lunch special. It didn't make any sense because as a customer when you see the lunch special sign at the front you shouldn't have to specifically ask for the lunch special as on the menu it clearly states $11.80 lunch special. The staff there are so rude and have no customer service was full arguing with us and raising their voice at us saying it was our fault. This is not how you do business it's false advertising. It's a shame because their food was actually quite nice. The manager their should train their staff to be more clear to customers and explain the prices before ordering. Their staff was obviously trying to make more money from and taking advantage of their customer. This is so wrong I would not recommend this...
Read moreThis joint is fully packed, even when it's near midnight. It seems to specialise it typical Asian dishes - from salt and pepper squid, to shandong chicken, to congee.
When I went, there seemed to just be two staff on duty. What initially seemed like us getting ignored by the wait staff, was really just them getting slightly overwhelmed by the crowd. When they did come around finally, they were lovely and attentive, and were very quick and polite with our requests.
We ordered the salt and pepper squid, and the soft shell crab XO vermicelli. Everything was quick, hot and incredibly delicious. My personal favourite was the XO vermicelli that was packed full of flavour, and a large enough portion for two to share for lunch without having to order anything else.
I liked that it was a cruisy, relaxed lunch, with tasty food and value for money. If you're in the area, the lunch specials seem worth the try - I was sticky beaking the tables around me - especially if you're looking for an easy lunch...or a...
