GRANATA'S Pemulwuy — Restaurant in Sydney

We ordered a pizza through ubereats around 720pm and can see the uber driver was at the restaurant by around 745-750pm to pick up the order. There was no movement so we contacted the driver around 8pm to find out what the hold up was. Driver said they were still waiting on the restaurant. We called up Granata’s Pemulwuy and asked about our ubereats order. The gentleman we spoke with said that the pizza was ready and they were waiting on the driver which was a lie as the driver said he’s been waiting there for the food to pick up (First instance of being dishonest and tried to blame the poor uber driver). When we told the restaurant worker that the driver has been waiting around, he changed his story and said that they were busy working on a large order that came through and that our pizza will be ready for pick up in 5mins. We patiently waited and there was still no movement by 830pm so we called up the restaurant again and the same worker picked up and said they had an issue with some new system which was causing the delay and that the pizza will be ready in a minute. To be fair, we are not upset at the fact that the food was going to take longer to be ready as I know how busy restaurants can get on Fridays and weekends but it’s the dishonesty and giving us unrealistic expectations on the wait time. Had the worker been honest in the first place and had said sorry, we’re really busy tonight so the pizza won’t be ready for another 20-30mins, we would have accepted and been okay with it. It is the fact that he lied again and again and gave us false waiting times. The pizza had finally arrived at 8:40pm and sadly, it was no longer hot and was just warm.. The restaurant is not far from our address so that was also quite disappointing. Hopefully moving forward, the restaurant will be more honest towards their customers as lying to us will only make us more upset...

We recently held our daughter's first birthday at Granata's Pemulwuy. Due to having approximately 60 guests including adults, children and babies, we had exclusive use of the restaurant space inside. From our first meeting to the function itself, Belinda and her staff went above and beyond to ensure our celebration was perfect. Belinda gave up her time to meet with us on several occasions to discuss menu as well as my ideas for themes and decoration. The restaurant was so accommodating with the decorations I wanted to supply and Belinda showed true professionalism in setting it all up for us to ensure it was exactly as we wanted. Granata's was able to cater to the dietary needs of our guests. Belinda even made our entire menu gluten free friendly, to ensure our guests could enjoy the arancini as well as meatballs. The food on the day was absolutely superb. From antipasto platters, salads, pizzas to the above mentioned arancini and meatballs; our guests were treated to a feast. We received amazing service on the day. The staff at Granata's were attentive and professional. We set up a bar tab and were able to enjoy a range of beverage on the day from soft drinks to beer on tap as well as tea and coffee. This venue was perfect for a first birthday with the outdoor area suited to kids who needed the chance to burn off some energy. It is a gem in our local area. Belinda ensured the entire function would be stress free for me, checking in with me during the party and making sure that I came home with leftovers. A sincere thank you to the team at Granata's - we couldn't have imagined our daughter's birthday...

Had a kid free evening so we decided to dine at Granata's.

We ordered Entree; Mozzarella Sticks and Bruschetta Mains; Gnocci Boscaiola and Chicken Mushroom Risotto. Dessert; Vanilla Panacotta and Churros

All of it was absolutely delicious. The risotto really hit the spot on a cold evening. The churros were crunchy and sweet.

The Gnocci is still fantastic! Soft fresh so tasty.. Yum yum yum!

It was a great choice to come here. Updated to 5*

Older Review (3 years ago) Their food is excellent - woodfired pizza to die for.. Gnocci so delicious, risotto amaze balls! Honestly the food is fantastic!

The atmosphere is nice, big screen TV and aesthetically pleasing.

The only thing, which is why I deducted a star is the price along with the serving size. It is quite pricey, (I don't mind going out now and then and paying for quality) but sadly the portions didn't match the price.

I brought my kids with me and paid around $10 (give or take a dollar) each, and received about 10 pieces of gnocci for one of their orders.

Also, the plate of the risotto looks huge but sadly it's only a thin layer spread out and a handful of gnocci for the main. Again, they were delicious but was disappointed there wasn't more.
