Gyradiko Bexley — Restaurant in Sydney

This is one of my favourite places to eat. However, I cannot give it 5 Stars in good conscience.

The food is exceptional, service tends to be quick, and the menu items quite diverse to meet whatever mood strikes.

There is one constant and re-occuring problem however. They consistently remove items on the menu, with zero explanation.

The "Pita Club" is my favourite item on the menu. I get cravings for this one specific item. We often order takeout instead of visiting, as we both work long & stressful jobs so driving takes time we often rather spend together. Many times I go to order Pita Club, and it's not available on Uber Eats. I have had orders cancelled because I ordered a Pita Club and they did not update its availability. We recently physically went four (4) times in a row over the course of a month, specifically because I had this craving, at different times of the week & different times at night. Each time after waiting in queue, looking at the menu board proudly displaying Pita Club, we get to order and briskly get told they're not serving it at this time, no they will not elaborate.

Over the last two years, from the times I actually kept a record and only including times an order has been cancelled or have physically visited & it has been unavailable, this has happened 14 times. But 14 is not the total number. My rough estimates place it between 19-26 times for cancelled orders or not available in store. Roughly 50% of the time we order, or go to order from this establishment, it is not available. Which means we often go elsewhere or order from elsewhere. We don't even do takeaway that much, but it's been two years!

At this point, the fact they haven't updated it to be restricted to certain times of the week or day, is ridiculous. I cannot give a full rating to an establishment so unwilling to provide an explanation at the time. I'm not that upset that the option is not available, more frustrated, but there is never an explanation and that is incredibly annoying especially after driving out and back specifically for this.

I love the Pita Club, to the point of being in my top five comfort foods. But I don't love that when I choose to eat here that I need to flip a coin for whether I'll be able to order it. Which has sadly eroded my love of this...

It’s the first time we’ve been to the Gyradiko. The place looked good from the outside, so my wife convinced me to go and buy 2 yeeros there. The yeeros they made for us, were very small, they don’t put any lettuce in their yeeros, they only put in tomato, and onions it, and chips. The yeeros they make there just doesn’t compare to most of the yeeros that are sold at most other places. The atmosphere there is also really bad. We sat outside, and the noise from the passing traffic was unbearable. Also, they don’t clean the outside tables, and rubbish from these tables is strewn all over the place, and rubbish also gets blown onto the road. The local council shouldn’t allow such businesses to serve customers outside on the street, without making sure that these businesses keep the grounds clean and tidy , without rubbish being strewn all over the place. If the local council inspectors see this review, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. To now cut a long story short, we will never go to this place ever again. I’ve been a Loyal customer since this place opened. I went there at 5 pm to buy one Gyro and 500 grams of Gyro Meat …

5 people behind the counter just stared at me and I asked are you serving tonight.

The Man taking my order stared at me like it was a staring competition and then asked me what do you want ..

I spoke in Greek as I heard him speak Greek to his colleague.. he looked at me blankly so I repeated the order and the blank look was like an ice junkie being told his dealer wasn’t home .

The Gyros was empty when I opened it at home for my son and the way he wrapped it was like a stoner rolling a joint out of a napkin.

When I weighed the meat I ordered minus the container it wasn’t 500 grams so it turns out he’s the dealer and he has short changed me ..

Where the HELL has the owner gone and where the fark did the FILOTIMO go ..

Shame on them for the lack of service and price increase without the quality or quantity being present ..

I’m now making extra food to feed family after having spent money already ..
