Can I do minus stars? I have never been so disappointed in a place in my life. My family and myself were treated with so much disrespect, made to feel very uncomfortable. To start, They have buzzers built into the edges on the table to call for service, yet we were told in a not nice manner not to press them (they didnt know it was an accident and just didn’t want it pressed) it was accidentally lent on by a child. We were also told by one of the Japanese staff members during service “I’m going to get someone else to serve you, I have things to do in the kitchen” and walked away, because we were confirming what entrees we were ordering. (Yet she went and served another table, not in the kitchen). They made us do two seperate orders because two tables had apparently been moved together to accommodate for us. We were rushed and spoken to abruptly. My sushi came with the tail end of the salmon (the salmon fat) that was inedible and gooey. There was a young girl working there who was very nice but she disappeared before mains (it was like because she was being nice or accomodating they sent her home) When we asked if they had a knife for cutting my nephews birthday cake, the answer was “we are closing in 15minutes” with an attitude… again made to feel terrible for asking for a knife. They did hand over a knife. To top it off, we were over charged massively at the end, what seemed like over $100 over charged when we added it up. We got the receipt of the entrees which was unreadable, but no mains or drinks and just a huge bill. Very upsetting considering it was for a little kids birthday and was suppose to be a nice fun night. we were spoken to so rudely and treated so disrespectful. Never again. We are still in shock from this service. Spoken Japanese to each other when we left. Travelled the world and never had an experience like this. Very upsetting! The spring rolls and tempura vegetables were nice....
Read moreEntree foods and sushi rolls tasted amazing. Staff were also super friendly and attentive. It also has a nice “Japanese” theme to it. Only downfall in the experience was the main food dishes. The ramen ordered was obviously an instant ramen packet as you could see the noodles still stuck together with that “zig zag” look, and also tasted very rubbery. The stir fry noodles were extremely salty. My wife and I came here as we have recently been to Japan and were craving authentic Japanese food, but this did...
Read moreWhat a delightful surprise this restaurant was. From the outside during the day, this unassuming little restaurant might not strike you as being a stand-out worth visiting, though once inside, you begin to understand what all the fuss is about. With a quaint and cozy atmosphere, Hoomiko offers incredible food with a touch of everything. Bento boxes were a hit for all seven of us dining together, including the kids, and a great way to try lots of different things. Highly...
