Second time dining at this restaurant this evening and they had really dropped the ball. They appear to appreciate catering to 'phone orders' (over the phone and in the kitchen) more than their patrons infront of them and in their store who have travelled suburbs to dine at their restaurant. The biggest let down for myself and partner this evening was recieving 2 out of our 4 ordered dishes under 15 minutes and waiting over 30 minutes for our mains with no courtesy of coming up to our table and informing us what the hell was going on with our simple, fried chicken dishes. All the while, the waiter runs to attend phone orders and bogs the kitchen staff to make them immediately. We witnessed over 3-4 door dash drivers and 3 walk-ins come in to pick up their large bags of take-away food before we felt urged to ask where our order was up to. When we asked, the waiter said "i'll check for you now". The question is, at 30 minutes wait time - wouldnt you of checked already? You came to collect our plates 15 minutes prior to us asking. Beyond everything - they are not reasonably priced either. Their prices are structured for the oblivious and for those who havent "yet" dined at better Japanese restaurants. I was a return customer after my first dining experience here 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I will now never be back or referring my friends or...
Read moreMight be one of best Japanese food I ever had for the price.
For people that used to cheap Japanese might be love or hate it, weird but true
Steak cooked to perfection, okonomiyaki really good for Australian standard, miso soup i can see the love, teriyaki sauce one of the best I ever had, udon soup good (looks like they make they own broth)
The best one is the tempura, very light and I can see skill and love on it, tuna also amazing as I don’t see many Japanese restaurants using fresh tuna, most of them using frozen vacuum block
2 things need that I can see need or I didn’t get what I want is the salmon, they gave us one with blood line and a bit smell, I think the fish cut and storing, second one the rice or sari, a bit cloggy (over...
Read moreTucked away in Peakhurst is a very well run family local business. Usually the Japanese restaurants I been to can only do either fresh sashimi and sushi well or the hot food (Rice and noodle dishes). This is one of the rare cases where the quality is equally good across the board. The owners are exceptionally friendly and nice and have excellent dinner suggestions on what to order and what to try.
I would recommend the Unagi (Eel) rice dish as it's presentation and taste is the best so far in my local area of St. George region.
Would return to try the different sashimi options. Assessiblity may be an issue for those non able bodied as the restaurant is located upstairs on the...
