Ten of us had tea (dinner for you yonguns.) here for my 66th birthday last night. The poor things were short staffed, and there were two other big groups, plus the smaller tables of 3's and 2's. Our table overlooked the full moon reflected off the ocean, and the "Mythos" beer was flowing. I had Honeyed Halloumi for starters. My wife and I shared Prawns Saganaki for entree and my main was Lamb Shoulder. All were beautiful. My wife had planned to take a cake and had enquired about cake age (which was only $3/head). But two of our group had to cancel. So she decided to do without, since we had already done cake on my actual BD. Surprise, surprise to us all, the owner, Sylvia, I think, brought out a large cake she had made. YUM! Orange spongecake with chocolate icecream....Tasted like Jaffa lollies 😋🥰 The price per couple was moderate but only because of the wines. But it's only money and you can't take it with you. Will we go back? Yes, of course! We had a wonderful night. The owners, Sylvia and Matt (I hope i got that right) are so friendly and we spent time chatting and laughing. They also do take away, as it's close to Little Bay Beach, I suppose. Or just because they do...
Read moreMe and my partner dinned here earlier tonight and I cannot give anything but the highest praise! To start with the food, it was excellent! Great portion sizes and the moussaka and pastisio was fresh right out of the oven. The lemon potatoes were the best I’ve ever had and there was a immediate feeling that all this food was cooked with so much love and passion! Add on a delicious baklava and some lovely Greek coffee, me and my partner were left very satisfied!
Even better than the food was the company, as our two hosts and the owners couldn’t be more lovely and welcoming. Their passion and love for the restaurant was infectious and they made the effort to make great conversation throughout the night! Everything felt fun and relaxed the whole night and we were touched at how wonderful the service was.
Finally, the restaurant was spotless and beautifully decorated and such a welcome edition to the local Maroubra community. Good Greek restaurants are hard to come by in Sydney, but I’m happy to say that we found one...
Read moreWhat I look for in a good restaurant is friendly, respectful service—something plenty of places around the Little Bay area understand. This place, however, clearly does not.
I made a last-minute Mother’s Day booking and was honestly surprised I managed to get a table. I received a confirmation for 1pm, and my family and I showed up expecting a special lunch. Instead, we were told they had no record of our reservation.
Fine—mistakes happen. But what followed was absolutely unacceptable. The manager or owner didn’t just fail to apologize—he treated me like the problem. He was dismissive, rude, and downright condescending. And then, in the middle of our conversation, he walked away. Just turned his back and left, like I didn’t even exist.
That kind of behavior is inexcusable. If this is how they handle their customers—especially on a day as important as Mother’s Day—they don’t deserve your business. There are plenty of places in the area that actually know how to treat people. This is not...
