This shop has a dangerous and reckless response to food allergies. During a recent meal there I took great care to explain to the male person behind the counter, that my 18month old was allergic to certain products. I asked him to double check if it was OK for us to order 'off menu' to ensure our little one didn't get cheese or milk products in his meal. 'Sure, no problem' was the response from the guy. I was a little annoyed when our special off menu meal arrived smothered in cheese. For a second time I carefully explained to the man that cheese was a dairy product and my son was allergic to cheese and anything made using milk. After my wee man had eaten about 1/3 of the meal I noticed to my horror there were globules of cheese floating in the sauce! When I told the man he completely denied any possibility of cheese until confronted with the evidence. Thank goodness my little man doesn't stop breathing when he eats dairy. He does get blisters all over his body which burst, bleed and get infected. It took 11 days of screaming misery until they all healed. The patty was also over cooked, the food was really salty, the staff were unapologetic of their mistake- the least they could have done was not charge us for our little man's meal. Heard good things about this place but never been there so decided to give it ago ... at first glance the place looks a bit tired and unorganised but sometimes the best food comes out . Ordered a few battered fish , calamari rings and chips ( wanted scallops but they were sold out ) ... 45 minutes later still no food but hey it’s busy and good things come to wait except this time. The food was disgusting- the battered fish was slimy and watery inside a burnt and rock hard oily batter , the prawns were dry and tasteless, calamari rings were chewy and the chips were shrivelled, dry small and under seasoned. SEVERE FOOD POISONING. We bought some seafood on Sunday 8/1/23. My children have been violently sick for the past 3 days. I have never seen them this sick in my life. We were fortunate that my husband and I had Chinese and are able to take care of the children. It is disgusting and disgraceful that a business would put profits over the health and safety of its customers. Shame on you and your lack of integrity that you would sell off Seafood without any care for the consumer but rather line your pockets with profits.
