This McDonald's has ruined so many takeaway dinners and lunches that it now deserves a 'special mention' of its own. The staff are usually polite and helpful - especially when they screw up an order... but sometimes they get agitated and even defensive of their own mistakes when confronted politely with evidence of their error. But with more than 100+ incorrect orders served up to me through the takeaway window over 18 years, and perhaps 40+ more wrong orders when dining in, I can't reward such terrible experiences with positive feedback. Imagine how many other customers are affected by their perpetual mistakes? I've had raw burgers with barely seared meat due to multiple patties fused together, sour milk, egg shells, half portions of nuggets, foreign objects in wraps, no meat on burger (see pic), missing portions of orders, wrong drinks, wrong meals, no meals, inedible meals, ruptured drink cups, missing salads, no sauces, wrong sauces on burgers, bones in fish fillets, missing promotional items, unavailable promotional items, lost orders, apple pies with no filling whatsoever, broken drinks machines... the list is endless. They even got me to order from the touchscreens recently and still messed up the order so bad it had to be remade. The most common mistake here is missing burgers and fries and wrong drinks served through the drive-through window so that by the time you get home, park the car, change your clothes and sit down to eat, there's not much you can do without returning to the restaurant again.
Recently they were doing renovations while half of the restaurant was still open for seated customers. The noise was so loud that I moved outside to eat in the cold. Even on that day I had to return a burger and drink because they were not what I had ordered. Over the years we've seen some very capable managers come and go but these sorts of problems should not be endured by McDonald's Australia. It also appears that the menu/food shared among the different McDonald's restaurants is inconsistent - and the thing that once made McDonald's famous (to be able to buy a burger and have it look and taste the same way from any restaurant) is no longer a possible. Sometimes you'll need to clear other people's food from tables before sitting down ...and at other times you'll sit in sticky jam from someone else's stale reheated scones. Those new Spicy McNuggets they're advertising? We tried some. There was no sauce and they'd under-counted the barely warm nuggets by 5.
Pull your socks up, McDonald's Australia. Since there's technically two McDonald's restaurants in the Northmead region, this low rating applies to them both equally: Brian's Road McDonald's - (who once famously served me a chicken burger with meat that could only be cut with an electric saw, to the great embarrassment of the manager when I used a Dremmel Saw to demonstrate this to her) - included. My wife even had her credit-card details skimmed after buying two Hot Chocolates via after using the in-store card reading EFTPOS device (this was rectified and resolved after a police investigation).
So why even eat here if it's so incredibly bad? Well, we've worked out a system to taste drinks and count food before leaving. And because the alternative is a nearby Hungry Jacks.
One Star for pleasant service and One Star for their effort to rectify issues.
Years later and they STILL can't make a Big Mac. [EDIT]: Still unable to construct a Big Mac as of March 29, 2021. We're now officially renaming all failed burgers as "Marco Macs". See image update.
And here we are again, years later in...

Ordered a coffee at drive through, as I cannot have sugar I specify no sugar syrup. I also requested an extra shot of espresso.
Upon looking at the order, when I paid, I noticed there was no note of extra shot/ no sugar. No issue paid the extra .40c and was fixed up.
When I got to the final window my wrongly made coffee was already waiting for me. Sugar syrup and all.
Again no issue, I politely asked the lady if it was in fact no sugar / extra shot. To which she spat yes.
When I pointed out the sugar syrup in the cup she snatched it off me and yelled there's nothing wrong with it...
She parked me, then brought out the same coffee unchanged legitimately 10 seconds from parking.
I didn't want to make this poor girls day any more stressful so I just left with a coffee I couldn't drink.
I to this day do not know what I've done to offend this manager. Confirming an order seems like a pretty standard part of her job..
Judging from the 3* rating its just an issue with the store. Ill travel the extra 10 mins every morning.
Sorry cranky manager lady, for whatever...
Read moreIf I could I would give them 0 stars but google is too nice for that. These people brought Hell up to earth for me yesterday when we waited ages for our food. Not only are the workers really rude and do nothing but joke around and ignore customers pretending like they don’t see them waiting at the table but they also give you attitude when they’re told to take your order by a manager as if you did something wrong. Teenagers basically run the place which is nothing but a big joke. The people there need to understand that they’re there for a job, they’re not there to make friends or get annoyed at customers and give them attitude when all they’re doing is innocently trying to buy. Managers of McDonald’s north mead, if you’re seeing this then please have a big talk with your workers because they are making the place bad for you. I myself have heard through multiple people that it’s a really bad place to go buy from. I could not believe my eyes when every single word I was told about the store was right. I saw everything they told me just happen right...
