My visit to McDonald's Arndell Park can only be described as a profoundly disappointing affair. As a frequent visitor to various McDonald's locations, I approached this establishment with the expectation of receiving the reliable, fast food experience I’ve come to know and, dare I say, love. However, this particular branch failed to meet even the most basic standards.
The moment I arrived, I was struck by the chaotic atmosphere within the restaurant. The staff, while undoubtedly well-meaning, appeared disorganised, with long queues and a distinct lack of urgency. It took an abnormally long time to be acknowledged at the counter, and the wait to receive my order was far beyond what one might consider acceptable for a fast-food outlet of this stature.
As for the meal itself—where to begin? The fries were disappointingly stale, lacking that familiar golden crunch, and instead offering a limp, soggy texture that could only have been the result of prolonged sitting under a heat lamp. The burger, which I had high hopes for, was underwhelming at best. The patty was dry and overcooked, the lettuce wilted, and the bun, far from its usual pillowy softness, was strangely dense and unappetising.
To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the dining area left much to be desired. Tables were sticky, and the floors seemed to be in need of a good cleaning. It’s disheartening to see such a lack of attention to detail in a well-established chain that has, in the past, managed to uphold a certain standard.
All in all, my experience at McDonald's Arndell Park was a far cry from the quality I had anticipated. I sincerely hope this location takes note of its glaring shortcomings, as it currently fails to provide the standard of service and food expected from the McDonald's brand. One star feels generous, but alas, it’s the best...
Read moreAfter numerous terrible experiences, todays takes the cake. Previously we have always been parked & then received cold/dry food, items missing & terrible service, but came to the understanding that’s the atmosphere at this store. Today I went through drive through to grab 4 ice creams (McFlurrys & sundaes) for my family who were at home. The customer service at the paying window was non existent. Not once was I greeted or told my total. I paid on the new Eftpos terminal that sits outside the window & continued to drive to the next window. The girl at the next window attempted to hand me each icecream individually. When I asked for a cup tray, I was told they had none. I asked how I am meant to drive with 4 ice creams and she said that there was nothing she could do. Upon stating this, I saw another worker putting away cup trays. When I said that, the girl at the window expressed that they are only for Uber Eats orders. I pushed back and told her that’s ridiculous & she walked off with a huff, spoke to the other worker & then reluctantly started putting my ice creams in the tray. I then noticed my order was incorrect & brought this to her attention & again she took it back with a huff and remade it. Handed it back to me without a spoon. Huffed once again when I asked for a spoon. The fact this isn’t a once off is concerning, especially seeing so many other 1 star reviews. If you don’t like people, don’t work in a job where you are customer facing. A smile & eye contact goes a long way. My 4yr old could do a better job than half...
Read moreFacilities are as you would expect from McDonald's stores. The customer service however is ridiculous. No-one was serving people at the counter. 1 staff member was allocated to the self serve units. Staff were ignoring customers waiting for counter. Including customers who had used the self serve but payment was required at the counter.
5min wait with not even one staff acknowledging people at the counter, even managers on duty. Walked out without ordering and ended up using drive-thru.
Drive-thru service was great and exactly as you would expect.
I'm all for embracing technology to make experiences streamlined but the current trend is not streamlined and not customer friendly. Which for a company that's primarily a customer relation based operation is not good. Someone really needs to review the processes in place. Forcing people to use the machines that are not a smooth experience and by forcing as minimal customer interaction as possible is going to lead to many unhappy customers and sour tastes left in customer's mouths. Also if someone wanted to complain in store then they would have had no option but to make a scene just to get someone's attention.
It is clear that McDonald's, and clearly this site is more concerned with a streamlined production line for the business. Why not just put a vending machine out front? Less wages to pay and similar experience to what you currently have on offer...
