Worst dinner and worst service we have ever experienced! Saturday night group of 6 for early Mothers Day. Took 20mins for someone to take our order. Then and almost an hour for first simple entree of Sang Chow Bow. The another 20mins to get second entree. Then waited another hour before someone come over to ask “so is that everything for you?” Having just witnessed another table of people storm out in anger we should have done the same. Obviously the kitchen mucked up. It took another half hour for all our mains to be served. Two and a half hour ordeal. No apology. The food was absolutely awful. The meat was grey and mushy like jelly. As were the prawns and chicken. The special fried rice was the worst, gluggy and chunks of spam ham. Yuk. First time we’d ever walked out leaving most of the food (?) on the plates. And…the staff were mostly under age children as young as 9 year old by the look. Surely this is wrong? We are all hoping we don’t get food poisoning or msg migraines. Do yourself a favour - don’t dream of going to Mountain...
Read moreFrom what I remember, this is the best Chinese restaurant I went to as a child. I have great memories of the neatly set tables and the rotary centre to move the sauces around, as well as looking out the big window at the mountains and rolling fields at the feet of the hills. The food was always great and they have some of the nicest staff I have met at a Chinese restaurant. They give you a special desert on your birthday and they are very child friendly. The fortune cookies at the end were also a highlight. The menu is extensive and good value and there are many drinks (non alcoholic and alcoholic) to choose from. There is a bathroom close and a free carpark below, however, I do not think it is wheelchair accessible, as there is a long set of stairs to get up there. Apart from this, the restraint is amazing, from live performances, to amazing views, and not to mention the food, this...
Read moreEven with the place half full on a Friday night, table service took way too long to take our order. 30 minutes after sitting down is excessive even for busy places in the city. Took several times of ordering drinks to get them.
Food was delivered to the table 10 to 15 minutes after other tables who ordered after us.
Food was very average westernised Chinese food. If you're looking for standard and safe dining that can be found in any Chinese take away, it might be worth coming here.
The live music was a bit of a drone. Not bad but odd choice of venue for that type of music (70s soft rock).
A dance floor and wide aisles is good for little kids and high tolerance of staff and patrons for young kids is a plus for families.
Overall a meal for 4 adults cost just under $200 for average food and slow service. We won't be back nor recommending this...
