This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Sydney for lunch. Although I am sad not being able to give it the 5 stars it deserves as I had an encounter once again from the manager Ange. Thought that by now she would have been removed from the service industry and this establishment as she has absolutely NO! customer service. Her cold, irritated, and unwelcoming attitude brings down the environment of the restaurant. Someone in her position should have a poise and charismatic exterior, no matter how stressful and frantic the service day is, they should be able to carry themselves in a professional yet empathetic and attentive nature. All the qualities which she is definitely lacking and is the first thing you see and receive once walking in through the doors. Really brings down the energic buzz of this place during the lunch rush. Now to the mouth watering food dishes and cocktails. I have never been disappointed with the food quality at this restaurant. Each dish is beautifully displayed when placed on our table. The colour and freshness pops from the plates and the flavor is to perfection. Even the kids meals have an attention to detail that you rarely find in other restaurants. They have an extensive selection of alcoholic drinks and their cocktails are amazing!! I do highly recommend booking before as this is a very boutique restaurant with limited seating and a long wait for walk ins. There is limited parking onsite but if you arrive before rush hour you should find parking easily. The restaurant is child friendly and the wait staff place a table cover which kids can draw on with crayons also supplied. On a side note: The rest of the wait staff and servers are wonderful, friendly, attentive and super helpful people and really make this restaurant a place I would always come back to, to share with my family...
Read moreThe new renovations here are lovely and the staff are friendly.
We had a few things happen that were below average for the expectations of this restaurant. Firstly we had reservations for inside as it was supposed to be a hot day and it was for a big family lunch and we were moved outside because they had put unreserved people inside on smaller tables. We had a toddler with us and we were trying to figure out what to order for them on the menu. The staff inform us after 20 minutes that there is a kids menu and that we needed to ask for it. We also had no drinks menu. We had reservations and the table was set up for us including a high chair so the very basics in my opinion would be to have a kids and drinks menu on the table. Our food came out and then our drinks came out after. By this time we had also run out of water and had to ask 3 times before we got another bottle (on a 39°c day outside) The food was completely mixed reviews on our table. The pork belly bap came out cold on a stale bun rubbery eggs and pork that was so overdone that it couldn't be cut with a knife. Another two dishes our table had were fish and both of those had bones all through them. The seafood spaghetti was apparently nice and same with the salmon although the skin was uneatable which it was advertised as crispy. From start to finish it was not a good experience for us.
It's also worth noting that the toilet door lock is completely busted and a member from our family got stuck in there and had to call to be let out. Something that should be fixed asap.
I would really only recommend this place for a quick coffee as the atmosphere near the...

I visited Wildpear Café on Mother’s Day with my teenaged daughter, hoping for a special lunch. I had called earlier in the week and was told they were fully booked but had a section for walk-ins — so we decided to try our luck.
Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The hostess at the entrance (an older woman with a bob) refused to acknowledge us for several minutes, even as others who arrived after us were allowed to seat themselves in the walk-in section. When we finally asked for a table, we were met with reluctance and what felt like deliberate coldness.
Despite telling her we were happy to wait, we watched as she continued to welcome and seat other walk-ins courteously — even offering a table for two to a couple that had just arrived. When I reminded her we were still waiting, she begrudgingly said, “I can put you there,” and led us to a cramped table near the restroom. The bench had no cushion, and she specifically selected a chair without a cushion before walking off without a word or eye contact.
Moments later, a more comfortable table became available, but we were not allowed to move. To make matters worse, both our drinks and food were offered to the wrong table before reaching us.
This was meant to be a joyful day. Instead, it left us feeling unwelcome and invisible. We expected a warm experience and basic hospitality — but received neither.
We won’t be returning or recommending...
