We made a trip out to Buraneer with a cafe recommendation from friends. Located on the corner of Gannons Road and Burraneer Bay Road is a stylish, light filled cafe with pastel pink and white interiors, called Our Father. The cafe featured an all day menu with brunch options and a few extra lunch options after 11am. I’m a bit of a current fan of Bircher at the moment, so I tried their overnight oats, made with coconut milk and shredded apple, maple syrup and topped with roasted coconut and fresh apple slices and stewed apple. A lovely light meal, reasonable portion and nice sweet flavours. Loved this dish and it’s maintained my love of this breakfast choice. In addition, we enjoyed their Ricotta folded eggs, served with mushrooms, gremolata, prosciutto, manchego and a slice of foccacia. It was a beautiful meal in both taste and flavour, the ricotta folded through the eggs made them nice and light and fluffy. We enjoyed a Flat white using a Blend by steam brothers. They use filter by sample and espresso by single origin. On my day of visit I had an espresso from El Salvador. They also do a really nice chai latte. Staff were lovely, and very helpful. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to revisiting

⭐⭐☆☆☆ More Bakery: Where the coffee's decent, but the service is like a game show! Let's talk about More Bakery. Their coffee? Pretty decent. Their service? An enigma wrapped in a mystery, sprinkled with confusion. It's a takeaway-focused joint, part of Our Father, but don't expect to grab and go. Ordering coffee here feels like participating in a quirky game show called "Who Gets Their Coffee First?" Spoiler alert: it’s never you - unless you know the secret handshake or nod. You can place your order and watch in bewilderment as people who order after you get their coffee before you. It's like they’re playing reverse hide-and-seek with your unfancy caffeine fix. Maybe they’re conducting a social experiment to test your patience? Or perhaps they’re practicing for a future in performance art. Either way, if you have a spare early morning to unravel this caffeinated conundrum, More Bakery is your spot. Just don’t forget to bring a book...and forbearance. Decent coffee, baffling service, and a lot of time to ponder life's big questions. Like, “Is it me...did I even order?”

The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our visit which we really appreciated and they were excellent. However, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations and felt overpriced for what was served. I ordered a matcha latte and specifically asked for it to be hot, not lukewarm. It arrived lukewarm. They kindly remade it without hesitation, but unfortunately, the matcha became too weak. I raised this with them and they were happy to make another one. It was only slightly better but still lacking in matcha flavour. It was soooo weak!! I didn’t feel comfortable asking a fourth time so just drank it. For the price, I expected more consistency and quality. I’ve attached photos of it but in person the matcha was sooooo weak. We then tried the iced Earl Grey Matcha Latte based on their recommendation and that one was actually very good. The wait staff were amazing but the baristas could use some training and there’s definitely room for improvement with the food – both in taste and value.
