Shearers Cook Bakery — Restaurant in Sydney

Wow this escalated quickly!!! I walked down there today with the wife and kids to grab lunch. I ordered a pie, sausage roll, apple pie, three cup cracks and a drink , it came to around $28, as I turned around from paying my miss's reminded about her coffee so I asked for a coffee, the lady stated it's a $5 minimum on eftpos, I stated I just spent nearly $30 are you really going to charge me the extra $1 for the fee, she quite rudely stated that the bank charges her $300 a fortnight to have that eftpos service, and she will let it slide this time but she was basically paying for my coffee not charging me that Serg charge, I 100% agree charge the customer the fee but not when they have just spent nearly $30. I was very disgusted in the manner I was spoken to, I told the lady that if this is the way you speak to your customers I will take my business elsewhere (I actually had to state to her there is no need to argue or rase your voice at me) after stating I will go somewhere else next time, her words spoken to me as I was leaving were.

For the most part the only issue I've had has been your pricing, this particular time you gave me attitude over a pie that I had quickly and kindly asked to exchange as the base was doughy/undercooked and was completely fused to the bottom to the point it couldnt be separated. For $13 to buy a pie and a can of coke id expect a better quality product without the attitude. Hats off to the server who was completely understanding, but the elderly duck up the back telling me to just pull it out an eat it rather than just exchanging it prior to even seeing it, needs work on her attitude and service. I came here because I was passing by. There is a $5 minimum eftpos charge which the woman at the counter was quite rude about. I appreciate there are business costs associated with eftpos, but really, when nobody has cash anymore, especially with Covid, surely the better solution is to factor that cost in elsewhere. Also not to be rude about it when a person doesn't immediately notice the tiny sign next to the register announcing the fee.

The bakery selection was a good old school mix, like neenish tarts, but unfortunately the baked goods I had all tasted...
