Peacock Palace Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Sydney

Went here on way home from school pick up for dine in. I've previously had takeaway from here and couldn't fault them. The food was always good and it didn't disappoint this time either. It's fresh, hot and tasty.

The only downside to my experience this time is the dine in. They really aren't set up for dining in. It was freezing cold so I did ask to close the doors. They didn't have proper table water service. They brought us water in cups, no jug. There is also no toilets and no facility to wash hands.

It's OK for adults but not when you have young kids.

The staff were friendly but weren't that attentive to the fact we were sitting there cold and I had to ask for the things we needed to make ourselves more comfortable.

So 4 stars for the food. Losing 1 star for poor dine in service which you pay an extra $2 per person for. I think for $2 each the experience should be made more pleasant and comfortable.

Few small changes can make dine in more popular but I do understand that this is a predominantly take away restaurant.

I ordered Chicken & Cashew and a large fried rice to take away. I couldn’t work out how to order via website without asking for delivery so I just drove over there, ordered & waited. It took about 15 mins but several big orders went out just before mine was ready. I also asked for no carrot as I can’t eat it. I was very happy with my meal. It really was fresh, hot & delicious. Instead of carrot I had some baby corn, mushrooms, peas & a few bits of broccoli & onion. Only thing I’d add is celery but it’s not for everyone, like carrot isn’t for me. Very tasty & I would definitely order again. It’s not really a venue for dine in but there are a couple of tables & a few chairs if you want to eat it there. Read all the great reviews on this restaurant, sadly my experience is vastly different. Service was great. COMBINATION CHOW MIEN with crispy noodles very salty, had one prawn and could have done with double the crispy noodles to share, CHICKEN & HAM roll - argh - battered to hell and back and the oil tasted old and dirty (binned that after one bite), SAN CHOW BOW - rusty lettuce leaves, CRISPY PORK with plum sauce - pork was so thin could hardly see it let alone taste it. Was like chewing on rubber. The fried rice was the best out of all of it. Oh, the bonus chicken wings were as bad as the chicken and ham roll and was binned. Won’t be spending my money...
