The location is really nice and it’s dog friendly, although a lot of the outdoor tables have no shade. The coffee was good, however that’s about all the positive things I have to say. We arrived at 11:55 and tried to order breakfast at 12:05 and were told we were too late (no breakfast after 12:00). We sat there for 10 minutes as it was unclear if it was table service or not. When waiting in line to order everyone in front of us had the same question of “can we order breakfast?” Which was a somewhat inflexible and rude “no” with absolutely zero empathy for missing the cutoff of what the customers came to purchase. Know your customers, chances are on a weekend people are coming to a cafe for breakfast. The portion sizes are actually laughable, an $18 salad was 60% greens and from a woolies salad bag, check the image I’ve posted. This place has so much potential but it falls so far short of the service and experience you can have at other local cafes in the area. Would not recommend, unless you’re getting a coffee to go.

Visited this nice looking cafe for the first time. Ordered a cappuccino ($5.50) which tasted nice. The lady who took my order appeared sick and was coughing. Another lady (wearing a striped shirt who appeared to be the manager) was acting like an unfriendly prison warden, walking around the cafe eying customers and tables. When I took one of my last sips of coffee, I felt a piece of something in my drink (see picture). I won’t be returning.

We love hanging out in this place for coffee and something sweet on Saturday/Sunday. Occasionally we will have lunch. They have a nice outside area with a beautiful view on Queens Park. Unfortunately, we have had times that we arrive but they’re closed due to a private event. So make sure they’re open before you go. The coffee is really nice and the staff friendly. If you have kids, there is a playground next to it.

It seems like the staff and/or the management of this place would benefit from gaining some awareness and understanding about food related health conditions.

We recently ate at this café; we were a group of a few adults and a few children. We have children with health conditions (diabetes and coeliac disease, which means we need to make sure we know the exact amount of carbohydrates in foods as well as making sure the food is free from gluten), therefore to be on the safe side we always bring some food with us wherever we go.

We ordered several drinks and foods from the café and we also put a few gluten free cupcakes and a small amount of berries that we had with us on the table for the children (hardly any of it was eaten by the way). Suddenly one of the staff or maybe the manager came to our table and told us that we could not have any food from outside there. We explained about the health condition of the children but the person did not show any interest or understanding. We decided not to argue as we didn’t want to make our friends/guests uncomfortable.

It was not a busy time of the day and not a busy day at all because it was a raining and the playground which usually attracts customers for this café was almost empty. Lots of tables and chairs were available. We didn’t ask for any additional plates, cutleries or other services from staff in the café. We ordered enough food for our group from the café and didn’t stay there for long. So we really didn't understand what the concern was about.

Furthermore, it would have also been more respectful to have a chat with us privately if they really had to, instead of doing it publicly and in front of our friends.

A little more consideration and understanding would...

Hi, I dont normally write reviews for cafes, but I felt that I had to on this occasion.

My regular cafe/coffee shop ‘Queens Park Cafe’ have decided to dramatically increased their prices.

So for the usual $5.50 coffee, I’m not talking a 50c increase, NO, but $1.50 increase + service tax for using the machine to pay.

So my simple coffee now costs $7.13. The food menu is also being reprinted as the board had been taken down. The food prices were already quite high, so who knows what they will charge for a sandwich now. I also wonder why we can’t have a sourdough toasted sandwich instead of plain white bread. Every cafe gives you a choice, not this one.

I seriously think that perhaps management need to rethink this, as this is one of the most expensive coffees in Sydney. I go to a lot of coffee shops as I travel across Sydney for work, but this cafe takes the biscuit with the new pricing. We are in a cost of living crisis, surely you would be happy be loyal customers. Yes we understand produce prices have increased, however coffee bean prices have decreased

The Good Food Guide cafe of the year 2024 doesn’t even charge this much.

I’ve been going here for years and also order food. However, I will rethink the spend now if they keep these prices so high.

Overall the food is good. The staff are excellent, Silvia and Pamela go out of their way to make sure everything is ok. Couldn’t fault the service at all or the chef.

It’s not like the coffee brand is top of the range, not Campos or even Grinders.

Shame, as I’ll be rethinking my order now or pick up a coffee from Clovelly before I get to the park. Also a few extra specials would...

I was going to give 2 stars but then couldn’t justify the second star.

Went here this morning to grab a coffee on my morning walk. 3 staff were on “duty”. They were having a chat as I walked in and did not acknowledge me OR stop chatting. It felt weird.

After a while, I interrupted their chinwag and asked for a soy latte.

The lady on the coffee machine started making it, whilst the lady at the till stared at me blankly. I waited a while, wondering if she was going to tell me I have a 3rd eye, before asking how much for the coffee?

Rather than answer me verbally, she pointed at the card machine with a very sullen look on her face. I then rummaged through my pockets and presented her with some shiny gold coins, which I believe are legal tender, only for her to turn her nose up at them and proclaim “we aren’t accepting cash”.

I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to my coffee. I really wished she had the forethought to tell me that before I ordered so as not to waste the coffee and save company profits, as I can only assume the heated milk was thrown away, as well as the coffee shot. I also wish she had expressed some sort of apology for not accepting my legal tender.

So much for the recession in Australia - they can afford to say no to business!

I got my coffee elsewhere, and...
