I’m pretty sure most people out there like pizza, right? What about those Gluten intolerant people? Well say no more – at Doughboy – they make pizzas to suit everyone! You can get super delicious pizza delivered to your door, or at Frenchman’s road Randwick, you can also eat in! We went on a Monday night and there’s two booths, enough for 6 or so people. On Monday and Tuesday they also host ‘all you can eat pizza tasting’ for only $20. And if delivery is more your thing, they deliver to Randwick, Coogee, South Coogee, Kingsford and Kensington. What is amazing about these pizzas is that you can choose your base; regular, spelt, wholemeal or gluten free, which is perfect for those that like choice and it’s also a nice, healthy crispy, thin base. You can also order half and half or create your own/ All topped with homemade tomato sauce, mozzarella and orgegano and then your choice of classic or signature pizzas. They also have vegetarian options. The classics are some of your favourites like margherita or capricciosa. On this occasion we went for the Balboa; ham, salami, pepperoni, chorizo, onion and smokey BBQ sauce, truly a meat lover’s dream. From the signature options, we tried the Salsiccia and truffle oil – a really nice combination of flavours including free range pork, fennel sausage, baby spinach, Spanish onion, garlic oil, drizzled with truffle oil and parsley. It all worked together so well and we loved this. We were also keen to try a seafood option and went with the chilli prawn with onion, tomato, chilli, baby spinach, cherry tomato, parmesan, parsley and garlic oil. This was the absolute standout and we look forward to ordering this again. There are a couple of fresh bread options like garlic bread or olive and fetta bread, but what you MUST order is the garlic and cheese bread with mozzarella, garlic and parmesan oozing out of it. For the health conscious amongst us, they have seven different salad options and we went for the blue cheese salad which was great, and we loved the caramelized walnuts and crisp prosciutto. The Roast pumpkin salad was also a good addition. We were too full for dessert like ice cream, brownies and tiramisu. Make sure you get there to try as it’s...
Read moreI have just revisited Wildman Pizza today and was disappointed in what I received as it did not live up to previous orders, I asked for double mushroom and was charged for it but did not receive it, the toppings were sparse and the cheese/sauce was dry and overcooked , I waited about 30 minutes for the pizza, they had been a little busy with about 3 Uber pickups and about 3 customers visiting the store including ourselves. When the pizza arrived I could see it wasn’t their best work but sat and ate as I was hungry and did not have time to wait for a remake. I did go and speak to the staff before I left showed them a picture of the pizza I had received today and pictures of previous orders which had been good. I explained politely and constructively that I’d experienced good Pizza here previously, but this was not good. I got a sorry from one on the team members but no real concern .I was not fishing for refund because I ate it as it wasn’t inedible just not good, I was hoping for some acknowledgement that yeah that was not great, I’d prefer to tell the business personally if something is good or bad. So my feelings now are that there are inconsistent cooking practices/results and I’ve lost confidence in returning the staff are still polite. I have ordered pizza from here in the previous months the quality has been declining but the bases are good.
Here follows my previous review from 7 months ago below…… I Got a large build your own with, Pepperoni, capsicum, onion, oregano, mushroom, ham, pineapple. They make a good Thin crust pizza that holds shape and toppings well, not stodgy or soggy, easy to fold if your a folder. Fresh non greasy, not burnt cooked perfectly, love the tomato base sauce is generous and thankfully not sweet. A good Pizza, with...
Read moreI remember Doughboy used to be the rage when I worked in Bondi Junction years ago and they had an outlet close by and lots of after work dinners were had there. The puffy pizza doughboy logo remains the same!
Fast forward to today and they have cropped up again in a few locations. The menu hasn’t changed much since I was last there and that’s a great thing as they had a wonderful product back then. Service is super friendly. There is a small dining area but they have plenty of options for pick up or delivery as well.
Their mantra of made from scratch, made with love, and Doughboy & Chill all ring true. The ingredients and methods used are top notch and it was reflected in the dishes we tried.
Highlights were the Bosco Pizza with its lashings of mushrooms, prosciutto, and rocket. The Salsiccia & Truffle Oil has a pork and fennel sausage dotted on the pizza with hints of truffle oil as well as spinach and Spanish onion. The bases were thin and crispy and utterly delicious. Loved their gooey Garlic & Cheese Bread with the pesto and parmesan. That was heaven and could’ve just eaten that by itself!
Way too full for desserts but they have a range of Serendipity ice creams for your...
