Sam's Gourmet Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

Hi.. I went to this shop after dropping my daughter at St Jones school and waited for at least 10-15 minutes in front bill counter. Every time there is new person or their daily customer comes they talk and ask what they want. There is atleast 3 girls ( 2 girls busy with coffee making) and another girl is with Bill counter.. I know that girl got plenty of time to ask what I want or why come their shop. I tried to get some attention but failed..

So after 15- 20 minutes of time wastage I returned.

Requesting shop owner to take care this kind of silly things.. Time is valuable for everyone.

If you guys busy just tell the customer that we are busy and can't attend a new customer for next 15 - 20 minutes..

I have bought a long black here twice & each time it was watery and weak. Usually a sign of under-extraction. The falafel wrap was good and worth the price. The brekky roll was nice, however for $14 it is a bit too expensive- I have had better for cheaper. Had 6 staff members behind the counter but food took 15 minutes. A wait time that should not be expected when you are the only customer.

The spinach and feta roll was literally a bun (that they had scurried out to buy from the bakery next door) which had been hollowed out, and filled with spinach & feta mix. There was meant to be a side salad which I did not get. For $15, I could have gone to Subway and bought a veggie footlong and had change leftover.

Been getting delivery for the last week so I can’t really give a full opinion on the food cause it isn’t super fresh when I get it, but it’s pretty good, coffee is super good, still warm after about 15mins getting to me.

Overall very good. And will probably dine in at some point.

Little side note, I see some people here whinging about the price of the coffee. It’s 2024 and inflation is real. If your “$6” coffee is too much for you, they do sell international roast at Aldi for just a bit more but you will get more out of it than one cup.

I order off Uber eats and average between 25-40 per order, don’t buy a cafe coffee if you’re broke...
