Something Fishy in Penshurst — Restaurant in Sydney

Ordered the family pack. Overpriced. Charged extra for grilled. Quality was terrible. Extremely large chips filled with oil, a few battered calamari and prawns that don’t taste fresh, also drenched in oil. 4 pieces of fish - asked for grilled, charged $1 extra per fish on top of the $45 already being charged. Doesn’t taste fresh, sub par quality. Whole family disappointed.

I have to say this is the best shop! Not only is the fish succulent, the coleslaw superb, the calamari tender - but the service is simply outstanding. My son is anaphylactic to eggs and dairy but absolutely loves fish. So he can have it, every time they clean the grill down for us so that he can have grilled fish. They do it without an eye roll or a comment - every time. You need to taste it for yourself. My background as an Islander we know our fish and seafood very well. I went to trial the seafood myself. The fish was cooked perfectly the calamari was cleaned tasty and perfect in its texture the prawn cutlets were perfect and juicy the scallops were amazing. This was the best seafood I have ever tasted in the last 10 years of travelling around Sydney and eating at various seafood outlets. These guys know what they are doing.
