Well here we go. When i went home from hurstville and have decided to go my regular pho and during the way i decided to change to ayam bakar 7 saudara. I regret my decision to change. Oh well. Spent 104 dollar to buy ayam bakar, ayam kunung, soto betawi, sayur asem, sop buntut, lontong sayur, sate kambing.
I know the time is tough, interest rate and inflation up but does not mean you serve this kind of food.
Soto betawi - unbelievable . Too salty. The saltiness is ruined the soto. Tried to counter with kecap manis(alot) and still not work. Quantity is too small with the price i paid. I dont mind paying more if i get more quantity and taste. Score 2 of 5
Ayam kuning- weak flavour. Better i cook it myself using kobe. Score 2 of 5. Just fyi 1 piece of ayam is 8 bucks lmao. I dont mind paying this if taste us freakin good. Did someone say kfc?
Lontong sayur- not the best lontong sayur. I would prefer Indonesian lontong sayur in Jakarta. Not so much flavour only saltiness. Score 2.5 of 5.
Sate kambing - if you compare my sate pic and other pic. Mine is small. Downsizing? I bet yep. The "sate bumbu" is not really the best. Price 15 5 for this?
Ayam bakar - same lacking flavour as the other ayam. I think ayam goreng 99 is still best ayam bakar or goreng in Kingsford if you compare these 2 . Would better cook it myself using kobe Score 2.5 of 5
Soto buntut - 16 5 dollar only to get 1 big oxtail and small one lol Taste is average . Quantity is stingy. Score 2 of 5.
Sayur asem- finally this one is working because the flavour is recognised. Maybe they use sayur asem botol lmao as it can be taste the same. Score 3 of 5.
If you want to go to this place, i suggest to call them and do takeaway. The reasons are they took 50 mins to prepare the food and the cleanliness . I found 2 ants on their tea "thermos" . See the video.
Please dont ask your customer to call you to order first on the phone. If you think you cant run the restaurant with only 2 ppl, better hire another kitchen help. Your customer will get the impact and the taste food is not great.
While i waited, there was a customer wanted to dine and they said it would take long service to prepare the food. 50 mins probably took me to go to kingsford and order the food.
Cleanliness -1 Taste -2.5 of 5 Price and quantity- 2 Customer service -3 Effort -4 . Only 2 people...
Read moreMay 7, 2023: Decided to have a Nasi Goreng today and remember one recommendations from a food vlogger here in Sydney. The shop is just 2 minutes walk from the train stations which makes more convenient for me because I always catch public transport so this is a big YES for me. Go straight to the shop and check the menu if there is any special dish which is not on the website but I already decided what to eat there. The lady owner greeted me ask me if I am Indo which I replied politely that I am not. Recommended me the Chicken Ball but I simply decline it and told her might try with next visit. So ordered Nasi Goreng Ayam with extra telur ( it is a YES for me again that their Nasi Goreng comes already with fried egg) but still I am Eggman so I add extra fried egg on it and also try the Ayam Bakar. Made my payment and settle in the dining area which I believed the only customer that quiet time of the day. Just browse their google reviews while waiting for my meal and I think it tooks 10-12 minutes waiting time which s average waiting in a restaurant. The moment of truth, food finally arrived along with a fresh sambal on the side. First bite was the Ayam Bakar which is very tasty and flavourful. Next is the Nasi Goreng Ayam where I can say one the best I tried ( it is my opinion) in Sydney. Just finished the chicken in almost 2 minutes only and my tummy says “he want more” so made a follow up order of the Chicken Ball. Just stop eating my Nasi Goreng for a while and wait for the Chicken ball and wait for almost 4 minutes to prepare. The chicken ball size was so big they had to cut into pieces to eat it easily. I dig it with the fried rice which is perfect for me. The lady owner asked “How’s the food?” and replied “the food was awesome, definitely will coming back”. Just a little chat with Ridwan and told them about my Nasi Goreng journey here in Sydney and where I’m from. They are really friendly and feels like they are your Uncle and Aunty haven’t spoke for a long time. Overall experience was AMAZING. Reasonable price, tasty food, easy accessible to public transport and good customer service are the things I am looking for if I will coming back. But one thing for sure, I’LL BE BACK. ( Sorry for the long review hope you have a patience...
Read moreDon't be deterured by the unassuming shopfront, Ayam Bakar 7 Saudara is an authentic Indonesian food destination. The food is absolutely first rate and reflects quality ingredients, amazing dishes prepared with culinary skill found in much higher end restaurants.
We started with chicken ball, a recommendation from chef. A scrumptious chicken dumpling with a bread like consistency served with a tasty dipping sauce.
Next was a mixed vegetable Gado Gado with tofu in a sumptuous thick peanut sauce served with prawn crackers. The flavour was utterly delicious.
We are huge fans of the Indonesian staple “Beef Rendang” and it did not disappoint. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. The flavour profile of the gravy is rich and complex with a delightful tang.
The Nasi Goreng is delightfully hearty dish with a rich Flavour profile that’s not too hot.
A treat was Tahar Telor a delightful tofu omelette that was incredibly light and not oily with a caramelised crunch yet delicately silky.
The dishes were complimented with a fragrant tasty coconut rice and Tea.
The decor is cheap & cheerful with exceptionally friendly & helpful service. The dining experience is quaint. Prices are reasonable at $15-$20 per person representing good value however it's “cash only”.
Food is cooked & prepared in an open kitchen which is spotlessly clean. A clue to the quality & authenticity of the cuisine is the regular clientele of Indonesian nationals dining there.
I give Ayam Bakar 7 Saudara my highest recommendation and I look forward to my...
