If you guys have followed for a while, you'll know that I've been eating manoush at Suhhtan Bakery since the beginning of high school. I love this place. Anyway, somewhere along the lines the owner started challenging himself to make donuts. I never really took an interest in them because I was always just there to grab my manoush fix. I'm not much of a sweet tooth either so it felt weird to me to follow up my glorious za'atar and cheese fold with a sweet treat. Over the years, the donuts started getting thicker and more puffy/airy in appearance. And recently there was one donut that caught my eye. It reminded me of this stupidly good donut I had in Korea, a twisted donut called chabssal kkwabaegi from Gwangjang Market (photo on the last slide!). I remember biting into it. It had a warm crisp on the outside, and it was very pillowy. The cushiony bite came from their use of glutinous rice flour in the dough. I don't think the donuts at a Lebanese bakery use glutinous rice flour (or do they???), so of course I didn't expect it to be exactly the same but nevertheless, it was a damn good twisted donut so I'm writing home about it. I'm just as surprised as you are that a manoush bakery has such donut prowess. The twisted donut is dusted with cinnamon sugar, and, like in Korea, it's also very pillowy when you bite in. Wasn't warm though because it's not kept under a food warmer. I've tried the twisted donuts at a couple of Korean shops in Lidcombe actually, Sunshine King Dumpling, Prince Bakery, but funnily enough Suhhtan Bakery has so far best scratched the itch for a good twisted donut. P.S. the owner is the only one that makes the donuts here, so you'll only see donuts for sale when he's around. He also only makes one big batch of donuts around 9am every morning at the moment so visit early when they're the freshest. I haven't tried the other flavoured donuts here, but if you do let me know if they're good! Price: $5 📍 Suhhtan Bakery, Regents Park

Visited Suhhtan Bakery and was blown away by the array of options available! From the zesty Peri Peri wrap to the savory Sarah's Special pizza boasting sujuk and jalapenos, each dish was a delightful adventure for the taste buds. The Makka wrap, showcasing a bold beer patty, was especially memorable. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Don't forget to try their mouthwatering sides like hot chips and garlic bread. A definite must-visit for anyone seeking a diverse culinary experience!

I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but this keeps happening. For the past couple of months, most of the orders have been incorrect, and my friends and neighbours have noticed the same issue. Also the Indian/Paki guy who packs the orders always forgets the peri sauce, even when I clearly remind him. The same thing happens with Uber orders I leave a note not to forget it, but he still does. He always seems distracted or daydreaming. This time, I ordered a zaatar and veggie roll but there was no zaatar at all.

I’ve been a regular customer at Shutan Bakery for a while now, and each visit leaves my heart full and happy! 🥰 What keeps me coming back is not just the delicious, fresh, halal treats but the warmth and kindness shown by the lovely sister Hnnan 💖.

One unforgettable moment was when my card was unexpectedly blocked. I had already placed my order, and without hesitation, sister Hnnan trusted me and kindly gave me the food, telling me I could pay later🥰 That act of trust and humility truly touched me. As soon as I returned home and activated my new card, I went back to the bakery and paid but the warmth I received that day will always stay with me. 💫

Now, whenever I receive my pay, I make it a little tradition to treat myself and my loved ones with something from Shutan Bakery. Every bite reminds me of the love and sincerity baked into everything they serve✨

Thank you for not just serving food, but spreading joy, trust, and warmth. May your business continue to...

I have been their customer for 7 years. Today 19-12-2020 afternoon had worst experience . Order pizza as usual in phone and went their to pick up. Paid by credit card and the young guy handed over the pizza to me. Requested for receipt and the guy said I can't give you receipt because I didn't ask him and I just asked him after 10 seconds and there was no transaction occurred . I requested you should have asked me I needed one and then he got hyper asking me to return the pizza and throw the money at me and start swearing at me and was nearly going to hit me if the customer at the shop wouldn't jump in. Never will go back again.Really disappointed with aggressive behaviour . Just letting you know to becareful if you think...
