After moving to the area and not knowing it well I went for a walk through and notice this shop from a distance. Sydney Marina first thing that came to mind was fish n chips or seafood so I thought sweet something different than what's available in the area. I arrived to the shop with my family we quickly noticed that it wasn't seafood (although the name gave us the assumption) regardless I asked the man serving if there was any seafood options and he offered two curry dishes which we kindly declined. When I declined as I was hoping for seafood (again sign name and explained the confusion) the man serving me was rude and replied "if I want seafood go to the kebab shop or northern beaches" it was very off putting from a customer perspective to be responded too like that Infront of other people. Another customer next to me who thought the same nicely said maybe you should change your sign as unfortunately Sydney Marina for many gives the impression of seafood. The guy serving asked us to leave so won't be back there. It's unfortunate as the food they offer may taste nice but the customer service from the man we had was enough...
Read moreGreat place if you have a special love for spicy food. I have noticed HALAL certification in the shop, which was a great relief for us. Tried both Sri Lankan and Malaysian menu few times and they've never disappointed us.
The customer service is over the top. They will provide you enough information about each item and if you are new into this type of cuisine that helps a lot to pick the right one from many options. Just ask them to help you to decide. They will always help you with a big smile.
Let me remind you again, their foods are very close to the authentic taste, so you may find it extra oily or having too much gravy. Just ask the person serving you to reduce the amount of oil or gravy in your serving. One helpful tip from my side will be to have white rice instead of roti/paratha while you having curry items. Also try to include their Daal(Lentil) in your menu. These will help to reduce the spiciness of the food.
We have been there and will continue going back there coming days. Thank you Mr Anil Kapoor/Kumble(the person who served us) for your great hospitality...
Read moreI saw chicken 65 beriyani and told one elderly lady to pack them and she was standing there for 15 minutes chatting and not doing anything. A staff had to come over and when she took the beriyani only I noticed there were curry chicken pieces inside. I told her I ordered them due to I thought it is chicken 65 beriyani and asked her if she would be kind enough to add the chicken 65 more. She was actually doing that till the elderly lady who was too busy chatting rather than attending customers came right away and took all the chicken pieces from the container and put it back in the beriyani. And gave us chicken curry pieces instead. Is that even hygienic. And why do u have to have the chicken 65 display above the beriyani and hide the curry chicken underneath. I came with my friend and therefore I just took it though I was not interested in their beriyani anymore after the lady probably the owner acting so...
