Exploring The Hidden Gem: The Famous Cafe
Tucked away in the vibrant streets of Surrey Hills, Sydney lies a true hidden gem for food enthusiasts - The Famous Cafe. With an unassuming exterior that belies the culinary delights within, this cafe is a haven for those seeking unique flavours and unforgettable dining experiences.
During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their signature dishes, each crafted with meticulous attention to detail and bursting with exquisite flavours. Among the highlights was the tantalising Beriute - a delightful combination of toasted Pita Bread, crisp Lettuce, juicy Tomato, and the pièce de résistance: House Smoked Australian Wagyu Beef Bacon. Topped with a perfectly cooked Sunny Side Egg, decadent Cheese Sauce, and creamy Mayonnaise, every bite was a symphony of textures and tastes that left me craving for more.
But the indulgence didn't stop there. I also had the pleasure of savouring their famous pulled beef sandwich, a masterpiece in its own right. Made with tender House Smoked Australian Beef Brisket (Halal), generously slathered with Smokey BBQ Sauce and Kewpie Mayo, and nestled between fluffy Brioche Buns, this sandwich was a revelation. The addition of ripe Tomato, crisp Iceberg Lettuce, and the rich flavours of the brisket created a harmonious blend that was simply irresistible.
Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or indulging in a leisurely meal, this charming cafe promises a memorable dining experience that will linger in your memory long after the last bite.
If you find yourself wandering the streets of Surrey Hills, do yourself a favour and seek out The Famous Cafe. Trust me, it's a culinary journey worth embarking on, and one that will leave you...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this coffee shop for over two years now, and they’ve never disappointed me! The staff is always friendly, kind, and cheerful. Many times, just getting my coffee here brightens my day and leaves me feeling energized and happy.
The coffee is always lovely—sometimes even served with an extra brownie treat 😊. When I don’t have time and I’m craving a sweet snack during the day, they have a great variety of pastries. Every now and then, they surprise me with a new one, which I’m always more than happy to try!
I don’t eat out very often, but I finally got the chance to try a few items from their food menu as well. It was actually my first time trying halal food, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. Their creamy scrambled eggs are just perfect! Everything is fresh and delicious, and the flavors blend together beautifully.
Yummy, yummy! You can finish off your meal with one of their lovely smoothies.
I highly recommend visiting them, and I wish them all...
Read moreDelightful coffee shop located within a few minutes walk from Central Station. Despite being located on busy Elizabeth Street, and with several windows opened for ventilation, traffic noise was not overly noticeable. I waited a while to be served, the barista was busily preparing coffees, and politely advised me that he would serve me shortly. I ordered a small flat-white coffee, Kimchi Mushy Toast, and a Portuguese tart. I took a seat at the bench with a view of picturesque Reservoir Street, and waited.
The coffee and tart arrived after a very brief wait. The coffee wasn't quite as hot as I would have preferred, but tasted great and featured some nice latte art. The tart was delicious, with a light and fluffy interior, and a delicious egg custard flavour. The Kimchi Mushy Toast was very tasty, featuring fresh sourdough, and delicious fillings. The spice level was just right for my taste....
