XS Espresso Menai — Restaurant in Sydney

EDITED: After 3 weeks I am still waiting for a response to the below review, this is a clear reflection of the extremely poor service I received. Especially seeing as more recent feedback from other customers has been promptly attended to. I would definitely not recommend XS.

I was really disappointed after looking forward to a nice breakfast with my friend this morning. The latte I ordered looked extremely strong, chocolate in colour and almost as if there was no milk. It was not a nice flavour at all, very burnt. When I politely notified staff the service from the girl was very unapologetic but to her credit, she did offer to make another half strength. I opted for an orange juice instead, as I was unsure the coffee would improve considering I only ever drink full strength. I was made to pay for the orange juice and after 25 minutes of waiting I needed to leave to be elsewhere - they did not acknowledge that we were leaving or if the juice was in the process of being made. Inexperienced staff with no idea what they're doing, giving us a table and while cleaning it they then gave it away to other people who were already seated because they liked that spot better, then giving us 4 people to sit on a table that clearly only fit two people. After complaining about to the waitress and asking why she gave our table away the response we received was... what do you want me to do? This is extremely poor attitude and we were very disappointed we walked out and didnt even bother ordering. If this is the type of service you offer then once the hype of this new cafe dies down expect us locals too also. All the dishes I tried were so delicious, my favourite was the fried chicken 😍

But all the dishes were mouthwatering! Omg and the desserts were to die for!

Biscoff heaven right there! If you visit, make sure you don’t miss out on the desserts! Especially the biscoff pancake!

Located @ Menai central down next to the petrol station 😊 It was easy to find, and they have parking spots in front of the venue.

Open until 10pm! I love that! Highly recommended. Definitely the best spot in the shire.
