Manning River Hotel — Restaurant in Taree

Recently visited Taree on a business trip and was very happy we chose to go to the Manning River Hotel for dinner. We decided to go with the Tuesday night special from the bistro which was $16 Burgers. The choice was either a Beef Burger or a Chicken Burger served with chips, so we chose 1 of each. The Chicken Burger was a crumbed piece of chicken breast with lettuce tomato and beetroot with a creamy garlic sauce and the Beef was with lettuce, tomato and beetroot both served with chips and we also chose Gravy as an add on. Both burgers were awesome.e and the chips and Gravy were delicious. With our meals we also decided to go with the cheesy garlic damper bread which was so tasty. The meals were so filling and we both struggled to finish them. The service was great. Staff are very friendly, patrons of the pub were great too. The pub isn't too big, many of the locals were enjoying a game of pool. There is also a small gamin room and plenty of parking. Very happy we decided to go here and will hopefully...

Down at heel pub, with a Pokey room full of gamblers. Made our way swiftly to the Bistro. Two steaks for $85 with chips (cold) and lumpy (warm ish) pepper sauce. Is there any food control by the Chefs. In a town with one of the highest unemployment rates in NSW, you might have thought prices would be low, My local RSL in Bondi has better cheaper steaks for half the price. .

The steak should have been amazing for this price, it was average. Poor attitude of staff behind the counter at Bistro. Bar staff excellent, however not enjoyable, overpriced and somewhat depressingly sad place.

Management should be reading comments and acting on this in regards to the food, because there is a commonality of discontent in the comments, that has not...

Lovely hotel with a great selection of food to choose from. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Were extremely helpful in assisting me in selecting a gluten free dish from the menu. I opted for the Grilled seafood combo with fries & salad. It came with Tartare sauce which I went back to check if it was gluten free - the waitress checked with the chef who went out the back to check all ingredients to confirm it was GF as I did not wish to become ill. This was delicious & a very generous serving. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana which was very tasty and large. Thoroughly recommend it.
