Today at 1pm we walked in for a quick lunch, not wearing a mask. We were greeted, given menus and told that we can make our way upstairs and choose a table to our liking; no directions about masks. We sat and were looking at the menu when a young waitress comes along (presumably to take our order) and at the sight of no masks she began, in quite an accusatory manner, to tell us off and walked away. We got put off by this behavior and walked off the shop, not wanting to make a fuss. As I was walking out a young waitress was running towards me shouting that my friend walked out with a bottle of diet Coke that was not paid for!! Naturally we came back to see what the issue was, where we were told that this waitress "saw it with her own eyes" the bottle of coke that was ordered for the table, walked out with us. She did NOT ask in polite manner she WAS sure. My friend was mortified of the accusation and was shaking in disbelief of such not only accusation but treatment as well! FYI the bottle of Coke was being enjoyed by the two people that ordered it next table over!! She had the audacity to threaten to call the police;( because she does not deserve a serve, however the customers deserve to be treated like criminals!) no apology, no way I'm going there again!! Read moreUnfortunately, today my family and I have decided to finally call it on JJ's Bakery Longford. Service has never been too crash hot, but today really took the cake.
We booked a table for 8 people over the phone for 11am.
When we arrived they hadn't prepared the table and we had to wait five minutes to be seated while they pushed two tables together.
Next we were informed that the kitchen was closed from 11 until 11.45, so we had to order from their selection of toasted sandwiches from the counter. We were told not to order at the counter, and that they would come and take our order at the table. They took 10 minutes to come to the table to take our order.
Then, they forgot one of our party's coffees, and the staff had an argument amongst themselves. It was after half past eleven when the last coffee finally got to the table.
When the sandwiches finally came, they again forgot another one of our group who the didn't get her food until 11.45.
And finally, we were abruptly asked to leave at 12 while some of us were still eating because another group was booked for our table at 12 and we were rushed out the door.
Really disappointing. It was the straw that broke the camels back. None of us are ever going back, and will tell everyone to give the place...
Read moreI've recently moved to Longford from Launceston and have discovered that there are only two places to get breakfast here: JJ's and Banjo's.
Unfortunately, my experiences at JJ's have been consistently disappointing. Despite having seven staff members behind the counter, they seem more interested in talking about their dogs than serving customers. With better organization, they could operate with half the number of staff.
During my first visit, my breakfast was delivered to the wrong table. On my second visit, my coffee ended up at the wrong table. The third visit involved me standing for five minutes waiting to be served while the staff chatted about their weekend. I had to raise my voice to ask if I should just take a seat. On my fourth visit, I waited so long to be served that I eventually gave up and walked out.
Now, I'm a loyal Banjo's customer. Unless JJ's improves its customer service and food quality, I believe they will struggle to compete once another option becomes available...
