A lovely local RSL with delicious food and quick friendly service. We stayed in Sheffield and dinner options were very limited but we were fortunate that this local gem was open. We ate here 2 nights in a row as we were impressed with the tasty food. Over these nights, we ordered the crumbed scallops, grilled chicken + garlic prawns, schnitzel and salmon + garlic prawns - dishes were about $30-35 each which is relatively pricy but not complaining when there are no other options. Decent portions and the meal felt nourishing - I really appreciate the side of fresh vegetables (the roasted pumpkin with cheese was out of this world and it is my goal to emulate this at home). We are from Melbourne here for weekend exploring. Both hubby and I are foodies and have eaten at all different places . This little town has served a scotch fillet that is up there with the best places in any state. We have eaten $150 steaks and this $40 scotch fillet was better in yaste and was cooked perfectly with so much flavour. Also the veggies were baked not just bland steamed. I absolutely love this place, we come up for rowing competitions and we eat here every time, in all the years of rowing we have never once had a bad meal. It’s good old fashioned service and food with a price to match and I mean that it a positive way. Superb hearty meals at a decent price. The service is second to none, the couple who run the RSL are top class people who deliver exceptional customer service, friendly and inviting.
