Creative chef offering something "completely different" I often think that you can tell what the food is going to be like in a restaurant by looking at the staff. I have walked past here a few times and have always been impressed with how clean and professional the staff here look in their white tops. So today I decided to see if my hunch was correct. We were greeted by Kathrin and I asked if it was possible for the chef Chris to create something suitable for a vegetarian as I love to eat a meal that is not something that I would eat at home. Chris came out and we had a chat and then I was presented with the most wonderful breakfast consisting of a number of various components such as tempeh, lightly scrambled egg with truffle oil, fried feta in a mini wrap, a small Asian salad in the centre plus globe artichoke with two side accompaniments of wasabi and home-made Bell Pepper jam. I really appreciated the time and trouble he took to produce the most innovative breakfast I have ever tasted. My partner also loved his four egg omelette. Chris and his wife Kathrin are both friendly an d very passionate about the food that they offer. So if you fancy something apart from the boring old Avocado on toast this is the place to go. A perfect five stars! * I have eaten at Noosa River Kitchen at least six times recently, not including stopping by for a quick cappuccino now and then. The coffee is excellent and the food is exceptional! I have eaten both breakfast and lunch there and both are amazing. I could eat their La Donna Tuscany or Signore Tuscany for breakfast every day of the week without getting tired of it. The German, but Italian-trained, chef excels at everything from Pasta to Gnocchi (best I have ever had) to Laksa and Schnitzel. Always well prepared with lovely presentation. The chicken schnitzel is tender and moist with a crisp breading and a separate but terrific brown gravy to add as you wish. I have had Laksa with prawns twice and it is the best I have ever had. The chili sauce is served on the side for a spicy bite at your discretion. And if you have a sweet tooth, the mandarin cheese cake and the apple and rhubarb crumble are worth the trip. Chris and Kathrin are the owners - chef and gracious host - and are extremely accommodating when taking your needs or desires into consideration when...
Read moreBig praises for Chris and Kathrin for hosting our dinners during our weekend retreat. Night one, we had a BBQ feast by the Pool Hut. Amazing selections of meats, salads, sides, sauces, and of course desserts! Everyone had more than enough. Night two, we had a 3-course plated dinner, where Chris and Kathrin went to one of the houses we were in. Fantastic experience seeing them cooking on-site. Also a massive applause because they bring in and prep everything, finishing off with clean-up. Such a fantastic experience everyone should have! Goes without saying the food was just beyond beyond expectations. Thank you Chris & Kathrin. We cant wait to be back soon!!!
P.S. my photos dont do eniugh justice for the...
