I recently used the Cérge app to notify The Tewantin/Noosa RSL that I was visiting with my friend Bronwyn. I am always looking for dementia friendly locations who take the time to connect and make Bronwyn feel welcome.
For Bronwyn and also myself as the Support Worker I can get a bit anxious if I feel staff or a business aren’t in tune with our needs as it can disrupt an entire day. Usually, we don’t need much assistance in the scheme of things but a special hello, a quiet seat, some tender service goes the extra mile for Bronwyn.
We found an undercover park which was a relief on a hot day. We took the lift to reception and was greeted by Cèrge which immediately made us feel at ease.
Reception was expecting us as I had notified them our expected time of arrival and outlined that the lounge would be the quietest area to sit and we can order at the cafe. On ordering we were advised our meals would be brought to our table which was wonderful. It’s always tough for me as the worker if I need to leave Bronwyn to get our meals it’s an added anxiety I don’t need. Hence why this is important to be able to communicate through Cérge so it’s not embarrassing or awkward for my friends.
The meals were delicious, and the lounge was very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Thank you Cérge for once again making our visit so easy and we would recommend people downloading the Cérge app and supporting those disability friendly businesses who are connected to Cèrge.
This app is honestly life enhancing, all those little things and anxieties I deal with are taken out of the equation. The business knows the service we need and that’s so...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience I’ve had in 27 years. Come for dinner last night with my partner, we were super excited as we were in Noosa for the weekend and hadn’t been out for dinner in some time. At the door we were spoken to ever so poorly by the front door security who barked at us as soon as we walked in the door to sign in with our licenses. We were then seated by a rude young guy, who gave us no instructions on ordering - if we had to go to a counter and order or if they come and took our order. Whilst we were waiting for our meals, my partner accidentally spilt his drink. He went to the front where the young guy was and asked if he could have a cloth, and the young guy looked at the napkins and then looked at him with a look of disgust. We mopped up the spill with the napkins but of course the table was sticky. We asked the lady who was wiping the table beside us if she could please just give the table a wipe as we spilled a drink, and she proceeded to roll her eyes and rudely agree. When our meals were brought out, the male waiter basically threw my meal on the table and didn’t even acknowledge us. And on top of that, the meals were below average quality. Honestly, this ruined our whole night so much that we finished our meal and went home. I will never return again. The absolute worst service I’ve ever had. The ONLY nice thing I can say about this place was the gorgeous girl behind the bistro bar who was lovely to me. Perhaps the other staff could take a lesson on customer...
