"Silk Road: Where Flavor Meets Generosity!"

My recent dining experience at Silk Road, the Uyghur restaurant, was nothing short of extraordinary. This hidden gem not only offers an array of mouthwatering dishes but also excels in providing generous portions that won't empty your wallet.

Upon entering Silk Road, I was immediately transported to a cozy oasis filled with the rich aroma of Uyghur spices and the warm ambiance of Central Asian hospitality. The décor, reminiscent of the Silk Road itself, added to the restaurant's charm.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh boy, the food! I opted for the diced pasta, and when they said the servings were huge, they meant it! One dish was easily enough to satisfy two people, if not more. The dish arrived steaming hot, with fragrant spices dancing in the air.

The diced pasta itself was a symphony of flavors and textures. Tender chunks of meat mingled with perfectly cooked vegetables, all coated in a savory sauce that left me wanting more with each bite. The Uyghur influence was evident in the blend of spices, creating a unique and memorable taste experience.

But what truly sets Silk Road apart, besides the incredible taste, is the affordability. Despite the massive portions, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious diners or those who simply appreciate value for money.

In summary, Silk Road is a culinary treasure in the world of Uyghur cuisine. With dishes that easily serve two, unbeatable flavor, and wallet-friendly prices, it's a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of the Silk Road's culinary delights. The diced pasta left me not only satisfied but already planning my return visit to explore more...

Outstanding Dining Experience - Third Visit and Still Impressed!

We had another fantastic experience at Silk Road Uyghur Cuisine celebrating our son's birthday. This was our third visit and the quality and service continue to exceed our expectations.

Food Highlights: Silk Road Mix Kebab Platter - perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection Lamb kebabs - tender and flavourful Toho Kordak - authentic and delicious Turkish tea - the perfect way to complement our meal

Overall Experience: We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse menu, sampling everything from appetizers and platters to grills and traditional teas. Every dish was well prepared and bursting with authentic flavours.

Service: The service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The boss was particularly welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed for our celebration.

Why We Keep Coming Back: The consistent quality of food, warm hospitality and authentic atmosphere make this our go-to restaurant for special occasions and regular dining alike. Everything was on point - from the food preparation to the service delivery.

We will definitely continue to return and highly recommend Silk Road Uyghur Cuisine to anyone looking for exceptional Central Asian cuisine and...

Went to this place with colleagues to catch up as we had been wanting to try it. I always walked pass it and smell the amazing cumin lamb smell wafting out from the shop but never get the chance to give it a go until now.

Flipping open the menu, it was really exciting as I could not recognise most of the dishes, which usually means it's not dumbed down for foreigners who are not used to their cuisine. We took a while to decide because of such big menu offerings but finally we settled on a starter of 5 permude (reminds me of pan fried gyoza/ colleague said empanadas), a triple mixed kebab plate, a kurgak korma (stir fried handmade quarter length noodles) and I got an ayran (salted yoghurt drink).

The waitress was really attentive and got straight to us when we were ready and they swapped out our empty water bottles as soon as it reached bottom.

We enjoyed all the dishes. Loved the flavours and the meats are all juicy and had nice grilled smokiness. I especially loved their handmade noodles which has a good chew to it. The fermented chili oil that was served on the side was a good add if you'd take spiciness. Would definitely go back and try some of their...

I ordered lamb shank with rice for takeaway, first time they put very little rice, so I called and explained to the owner that the portion of rice isn’t right and i been served very little rice to what I normally get as I buy food here regularly, he apologised and said he’s got new kitchen staff and he will let his staff know for next time and when I order next to mention the issue and they will rectify. Tonight I ordered the same food and I mentioned what had happened few days ago when I ordered this food and the lady on the phone that took my order said she will let the kitchen staff know. I went and picked up my food and when I got home and opened the box it was exactly the same with barely any rice and they charge $30 for it. Before this food was $25 with good portion size now they are charging $30 and it’s even less food than before. I don’t know if there’s shortage on rice in the restaurant. No wonder it’s always quiet when i go there. And when I called again to tell the lady that again they barely put any rice she laughed over the phone. Very disappointed. Disrespectful staff and I don’t recommend this place.

I have been coming here since they were very new as I used to be a local in this area at the time. When I tried this beautifully decorated restaurant, I thought I found a jewel in sands. There are many good restaurants in Victoria park area now but there was quite a few at the time. When I was in Sydney, I became a big fun of the Uyghur cuisine but I could not find any until I found this restaurant on the street while passing by. Our family’s favourites are Small size of Toho Kodak(Spicy sauce noodles with veggies and chickens) and Zih Kewap(Spicy lamb kebab). They would be enough for 3 adults And for kids, they have some options such as a fried rice, fish & chips or naan bread. Also you are visiting here to see if you like the Uyghur cuisine, Polo(a combination of sushi-style rice mixed with small veggie pieces and 2 skewers of Zih Kewap) will be the best starting point. The serve size is slightly bigger for one adult. As much as you like spices such as chilli, garlic, cumin and ginger, you will like the Uyghur :-)
