First time visit to this cafe, staff were friendly & it had a country town atmosphere. My son ordered the mountain man steak which filled half the plate & was at least 2 inches thick - an amazing meal that he thoroughly enjoyed altho it was just a little overdone it was still full of flavour & was very reasonably priced - even our coffees were made well in huge mugs. Will definitely stop by again next time we are passing through town 😊

This review was based on a visit from a while ago: Lovely little spot in Kinglake. The menu was very extensive and reasonably priced, much less expensive than Melbourne CBD! Portions were really great too. The chicken Parma, fisherman's basket, focaccias and burgers were all delicious, even the chips!! The service was a highlight. All the staff were really friendly. Will come back to try the pizzas next time.

Was stewing on this review for a while but I guess I need to say this,.... a couple of Fridays ago we were driving through , decided to stop and grab a pie and drinks....my mate insisted that we had KFC but I said I didn't mind the country pies...he's said that at this time of day, you won't get a good pie, that it'll be chicken curry...so against his judgement I went in, there were 2 items left on a plate in the bay marie , I asked the lady behind the counter what the pie was she said steak and pepper..... So in the car I bitt into the pie , it wasn't beef, it was chicken ..she lied .......Its not that much of a deal to want to support local businesses, I'm happy to do it ...but to be misled kind of indicates that she didn't want/care for any potential business ....I hope the business owner trains their staff to be upfront and honest....it saves us, the consumer lots of time writing these sorts of...

Been living in area 6 months now and given this place multiple chances, nothing but raw cold food and bad experiences, tonight I got my 5th Mexicana pizza of which only one was cooked and none contained the same ingredients, my partner ordered a parmigiana with salad and received a massive parmigiana overcooked with soggy chips, no salad. The staff are to young and unsupervised so they just stuff up constantly I was called up to counter 3 times for my order last week and stood there for a couple of minutes before sitting down again the final time I asked is it actually ready, they all just laughed, no respect. When I complained tonight I was told that on that night I had left the premises, I hadn’t. Take my advice don’t detour drive to Yarra Glen if you make the detour you will be dissapointed with the cold raw food and the colder service. I support local business, however only when it’s good...

Was pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. It's not often that I have anything nice to say about restaurants or take away shops. Most of the time I'm complaining but this, I couldn't fault. We had a couple of pastas and a pizza and everything was fresh and tasty. Authentic Italian pasta sauces.Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My wife absolutely loved the pizza but if I had to pick on something I would suggest using the nice soft fluffy Italian style pastry rather the crusty bread-like pastry but that's just my personal preference. Anyway the pasta was so good that we ordered double to take away because its about a 90 minute drive for us to get back there, which we will definitely do. It's worth the drive! And... the portions were very generous (almost couldn't eat it all) and the price very reasonable. Highly recommended! Wish they were...
