I recently visited Cobb’s Coffee and, while their coffee and sandwich have always been great, I had a frustrating experience with the Skip app and their handling of my order.

I placed an order through the app while at work as I drive a truck and couldn’t pick it up immediately. I tried calling the café to explain my situation, but their phone system only played a voicemail stating they don’t accept calls, making communication impossible. By the time I sent someone to collect the order, I was informed the food had been thrown away.

To make matters worse, I was told I couldn’t get a refund either. I understand the importance of keeping food fresh, but there should have been some form of communication before discarding the order—especially since my contact details were provided through the app.

This experience was disappointing, and I hope the café improves its customer service by allowing refunds in such situations or contacting customers before disposing of their orders. Better communication channels, such as a working phone line, would also go a long way in resolving...

Overview: Perfect place for strong cup of coffee to get you started in the morning.

Soy Cappucino: The first moment the coffee hit my tongue, I instantly got a taste of the strong dark roasted coffee, with a slight fruitiness. The milk was frothed to a point where it was silky and smooth to drink. 9/10

Mushroom Melt: Cobbs coffee also offers a selection of appetising toasties, I decided to go with the mushroom melt. Cobbs has got to have the cheesiest toasties I have ever had, (which is a downside to the lactose intolerant people out there, me included) But it was served with crusty and crispy sourdough bread that was a delight to eat, loaded with cheesy mushroom filling. It was that filling I couldn't eat the last few bites. 9/10

Service: The staff were very inviting and treated everyone as welcomed nicely, as if they were regular customers. 9/10

Vibe/environment: Even though I sat outside in the beautiful morning sun, the inside looked very comfy. Although probably only caters for groups of 5 at...

Coffee was so burnt it was undrinkable, cleaning brush brittle longer than the palm of my hand, got responded with that's ok it's just a cleaning brush brisle, no that isn't ok, yes she swapped it out however still means that my food was contaminated, especially as the brushes are supposed to be used before the sanitation, so how was one that long in my scroll, unsure if there where more, however first bite with that, :O scroll was ok taste when swapped out, wouldn't buy again thou, and 3 cheese toastie both without mustard, 1 was supplied with mustard, even one without mustard was horrid 🤮 sorry but not coming back and trying to ring to ask for full refund, straight to voice mail without any other option to talk to anyone, threw everything in the bin, ended up going to Higher Society instead, perfect coffee, highly recommend higher Society for non burnt coffee,

I did not leave a...

The best place in Ballarat for coffee nerds. Great espresso and batch brew coffee and the staff are passionate about creating the best brew. Cobb’s also provide a great selection of materials for people the craft great coffee at home, with a selection of various coffees and a range of equipment. The staff are always willing and excited to share information about making coffee. Recently Cobb’s upped their sandwich game and provide some of the best sandwiches and toasties in Ballarat (There is some great competition locally and Cobb’s set the bar high). I recently had the Rueben and it was a work of art. Until someone is crazy enough to open a 5th wave coffee shop in Ballarat, Cobb’s coffee is as good as it gets for coffee nerds this side of Victoria.

For some time now, this has been Ballarat's BEST coffee. Rumble Coffee Roasters are on top of their game, and Cobb's have cornered themselves a slice of heaven by bringing Rumble to my hometown. Efficient service always here, due to the cosy and vibrant site. And yet it never fails to be friendly and very welcoming. Good staff who know what they're doing and know what they're good at, filter and single origin options are well executed, partnering with the Haymaker blend as the house offering. Sandwiches also a highlight. When they're a lot of what you do, you have to nail them. And this team does. Grab a Rueben and laugh at how well you're winning at life. Bravo.
