Cowes Curry Club - Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Victoria

Incredibly overpriced. Terrible service, had to grab menus ourselves, water ourselves, had to go up and order, mistake in our order. Additionally for a $400 bill not a single stand out dish. Terrible lassi and food that definitely does not justify $50 per person price tag. Worst Indian I’ve had in Victoria for the price.

I apologise if my review seems harsh, however it is a fair reflection of our individual and personal experience last night. As restaurant owners you are perfectly free to charge whatever you want for your dishes, and I have no problem paying $50/ person for a meal. Hell charge $200/ for all I care, I am simply stating for the money charged the food quality and service was well below what was expected. That is my review. If this was $25/pp it would be good value for money and much closer to 5 stars.

I went to this restaurant today with my mates. We are travelling from melbourne. First of all, this INDIAN restaurant doesnt serve a paneer starter. PANEER starter. Quite weird. Okay. Thats fine. We ordered paneer butter masala and dal makhani. The texture of paneer was really good but the gravy was inedible. It was so sweet, and the texture of gravy was like a chutney. Secondly, the dal makhani wasnt even close to dal makhani, in terms of looks and taste. It looked like a normal dal and tasted as well. I still appreciate the restaurant for not charging us for the paneer butter masala after we complained. Honestly, for the price and taste, I wouldnt recommend this restaurant unless you are very desperate to have indian food. I was chillin like a villain havin a bevy with the boys and discussing the intricacies of pants when I thought it was about time we should rustle up some grub after all it was nearing 9 o clock on a balmy summer night. So I whipped out the old phonicle and dialled the nearest curry joint to satisfy an insatiable hankering. Little did I know I was in for a scrotacular meal that would blow my socks off like a one legged lesbian doing cartwheels on a unicycle. The meal was fully fantastic the best tasting thing on the whole island and I smashed it so quickly I forgot to take the obligatory photo. From the chicken to the lamb to the garlic naan, even the pappadums, it was all full of mouth watering goodness. My only small gripe is that I wanted the vindaloo spicy because I was looking to get full anus’d on that but it’s probably my fault because I should have specified I want Indian hot rather than white boy hot.
