IMPORTANT PLEASE READ FOR YOUR OWN SAKE – Long Review|I could NOT agree more with Daniel K’s bad review and being semi permanent caravanners travelling all up the East coast to Bundaberg and along the Murray River and South Australia, THIS IS THE WORST RUN PARK we have ever stayed at. At the outset, apparently this place was owned by “an English family” but it certainly is not now and run by Chinese people . This is important because from the reviews that are positive, there is no doubt they are not for the current owners. We moved from the NRMA park 800 meters away as we could not extend our stay because they were fully booked. Walked in to the reception at Amaroo, waited, rang the bell over 15 minutes and no one appeared. Called the number and got an asian female and it was hard to understand her so I concluded the phone call stating very clearly, “we are in your reception and we want to book in”. We could not understand exactly what she said so I repeated “we are in reception…can you come and help us please”. She said “yes, yes” to which I repeated myself again to make sure she understood and got a “yes yes” again. After 20 minutes (no exaggeration), still no one came so we walked out in disgust.. We drove in to the park and whilst every other park we tried were full, this park had 2 caravans in it (red flag). Anyway, we had no choice so I booked for 4 days, spoke to an Asian male and asked if we could check in at 10am as we needed to vacate the NRMA by 10am. He was much easier to understand and said “no problem, you can check in anytime”. We arrived and my wife went in to check in and was told that we can not check in as it is too early. She came out and I went in and after pointing out our phone conversation the previous day including that the park was empty…he agreed. First, there is plenty of grass but the larger sites which we needed leave you stepping out on to dirt so you need a floor mat. No one stays there so why haven’t they fixed this (minor issue). Second, the dump point is 90mm pipe and that’s it. No proper dump point and only meters from a cabin. The amenities need serious attention but worse, they do not clean them. For 3 consecutive days, the same toilet seat had stains. I could go on about amenities but conclude with, they are a disgrace. We observed the cleaner attend to the cabin near us for 4 days after each new person moved in and having owned a motel for 4 years, he was far too quick to have cleaned the rooms properly and on our last morning, I asked the young family what the cabin was like and he said “ok but it was not clean”. This place is a disgrace and I would never stay there ever again and it is no surprise that even over the weekend, there was hardly anyone there and the couple beside us agrees with our opinion and said he also only booked because everywhere else was full. Don’t say you have not...

Read moreI recently stayed at Amaroo Park in Cowes, Phillip Island, and had a fantastic experience! The park offers a variety of accommodation options, including villas, studios, and powered sites, catering to different budgets and preferences. I opted for a villa, and it was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.
The park is in a perfect location, just a short distance from the beach and the main street of Cowes, where you can explore local cafes, restaurants, and shops. It’s also only a 10-minute drive to popular attractions like the Penguin Parade and the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, making it a great base for exploring the island.
One of the highlights of my stay was the friendly and welcoming staff. They were always available to offer recommendations or assist with anything I needed. The park itself is well-maintained, with a solar-heated pool, BBQ area, and a games room that added extra fun to my stay.
The peaceful atmosphere and well-kept grounds made it a perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. I highly recommend Amaroo Park for anyone visiting Phillip Island, whether for a short getaway or a longer stay. It offers excellent value for money, with great facilities and a location that...
