Criterion Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

Recently visited for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. By no means is it ultra-modern and à-la-carte, but that's no issue here.

The service was pretty good while we weren't served straight away it wasn't a big deal since it was a quite sort of day anyway. The staff that did serve us was super nice and friendly with no issues at all. As for the bartender, she was pleasant aswell.

The food was fantastic, not overpriced rubbish that you could do better at home or was it over the top and fancy. I had a lunch special of gummy shark and it was fantastic. It wasn't an over the top amount or at least not enough either, being the perfect portion. The prices were fair too.

I would recommend either a lunchtime visit or even a big or small get together, as the facility both homely but large enough for these...

Ordered two pizzas to be picked up (they sadly don't offer delivery). The kids pizza was absolutely delicious and just enough pieces for our two kids. Topped high with the best ingredients - including pineapple 🍍 - haters gonna hate! Haha 😄

The tandoori chicken pizza we ordered for the adults was delicious, but perhaps a bit soggy if anything. It came with a thinner base, which I think was to it's detriment as the toppings and sauce seeped through and caused it to be tricky to cut, pick up and hold. Perhaps it was just a once off though. We still demolished it! We will definitely be ordering again to try the rest...

Couldn’t rate this lower if I tried, just moved down here wanting to try the local pub in our area, thinking there would be nice country service . Completely overlooked before we could even speak. the what looked like a manager didn’t even give us two seconds to ask if we would like a table but bypassed us completely for the couple next to us asking if they would like a table and walked off while we stood there gobsmacked. Absolutely rude service, can’t even comment on the food because we didn’t even get that far....
