Came here with wife and three kids (youngest only 8 months old).
Knowing the kids can be fussy eaters, ordered the non-vege banquet and asked the waitress if that was OK and ordered some extra naan and rice to keep the kids happy. Waitress was fine with this and didn't say anything to the contrary.
Mains came out and an extra butter chicken came to the table so we immedieately said we only ordered one. They advised we ordered two, but I reitereated we only ordered one. Something was mumbled, but then they left and didn't return.
After 10-15 minutes of them not collecting it, we assumed they had just accepted their mistake and wasn't going to collect a curry that had been sitting on someones table for so long to give to another customer, so we ate a bit of it.
Got the bill to see we had been charged for the second curry, and this is where the evening turned pear shape.
Spoke to the lady behind the desk who was adamant we had to pay for it, even though we didn't order it. Stated the banquet is only for 2 people (even though it's a saving of less than $5 if it was all ordered separate), but advised we spoke with the wait staff about it and nothing was mentioned about having to order another meal. Bit amused that she claimed we shared it with 5 people when one of those 5 was an 8 month old.
Then she asked if we returned it. Stateted as above we immedieately told the wait staff we only ordered one. Then she asked if it was still on the table to which I said no because it had been sitting there for ages.
I'm still giving two stars because we enjoyed the food and the waitstaff were friendly, but the cashier's attitude was absolutely shocking. Trying to blame their staffs lack of communication with customers was bad enough, but her tone was just unwarranted.
EDIT: in response to the owner… that is an absolute lie. From the moment we asked the wait staff about ordering the banquet, she said there was no issue.
Your restaurant decided to add an extra item to our order that WE DID NOT ASK FOR. As mentioned, as soon as staff put it down, we said we didn’t order it. The fact you cannot communicate the strictness of your policies is a training issue for you. Do not lie and twist the words.
And what would the restaurant do with a hot meal that has sat on a customers table for 15 minutes after we told staff we didn’t order it? Serve it to another customer? If so your restaurant should be visited by the health inspector and shut down.
I have reduced my rating to one star because of this...
Read moreI wish I could give them minus stars for their rude behaviour after serving us with sour lamb korma not lamb korma. Very argon and misbehaving lady forced us to eat what was cooked and taken zero reviews for her dish. I asked her when was the lamb cooked for this dish, replied…”it is cooked in bulk”. As we were there for dinner and she explained that no one since morning has complained about this lamb ????? So, I would ask people to be careful of these clowns as they won’t be cooking fresh for your plate. Food is cooked in bulk and don’t know how old is it ???? Does she even know the definition of korma ?? Even the the Aussie girl who was serving us was scared of that unprofessional Indian owner for her nonsense talk about her hospitality. If anyone wants to learn the definition of hospitality and the industry, “she is ready to explain as she has zero knowledge for the industry and service”. She speaks Punglish “Punjabi mixed with English” And trying to explain hospitality sector definition with sour lamb korma which she would force you to eat. I wanted to pay for our dinner with missing steamed rice”yet to come after dinner” But, the rude lady asked us to leave if we don’t like their food??? 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Hi Thanks for making up your favourable story after two days of thinking. You can’t force people to eat your sour lamb. I have not been rude to any of the staff…the lady who was serving us had to carry your “sour lamb” back and forth because you kept asking her to put it back on the table. You suppose to remove the dish from our table if we didn’t like it…so we could continue having dinner. You have “zero” knowledge about the hospitality as you are still arguing. What my family said about you and your experience??? “You would not want to know that”” super girl with...
Read moreI recently visited the Indian restaurant in Bairnsdale town, and it was an absolute delight! The moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and inviting atmosphere, with its warm lighting and elegant decor. The setting felt both modern and traditional, perfectly reflecting the rich cultural heritage of India.
The food was exceptional. From the flavourful kadahi chicken to the perfectly spiced dal tadka. every dish was prepared with great care and authenticity. Each bite was a true representation of the depth and variety of Indian cuisine, with just the right balance of spices that didn’t overpower the natural flavors of the ingredients.
What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the staff. The service was outstanding from the moment we entered. The staff were not only friendly but genuinely attentive and eager to make sure we had the best possible dining experience. They were quick to recommend dishes based on our preferences and made sure everything was just right. Their warm and welcoming attitude really added to the overall charm of the restaurant.
All in all, this Indian restaurant is a fantastic addition to the local dining scene. The delicious food , genuine price and the outstanding service from the friendly staff made it a memorable experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit for their new project- - food truck @ Lake enterance.
Good luck team for future and stay blessed. Waheguru...
