Doug's Hot bread — Restaurant in Victoria

Went there yesterday 15th April 2024. I had the Pepper Steak Pie and sausage roll and my partner had the Steak, Bacon and cheese pie. Both pies looked great but we were both bitterly disappointed. Hardly any filling and so luke warm they were almost cold. The sausage roll was very hot, I think only as it had been in the warmer for ages and it looked like it. Also my pie had three large pieces of gristle. This was at 12.30 pm and a good Country Bakery anywhere at that time, if any good has people lining up out the door. Hardly a soul....

We stop here every time we drive through Seymour. The food and coffee are always great. The only thing I would comment on is the way one of the older ladies speaks to the young girls working there. The young girl that served us on Wednesday afternoon was great, both our sandwich and roll were amazing, she was very efficient and nothing was a problem. It's not the first time we have noticed. This place is hit and miss, have bought many sausage rolls from here and they are often burnt on the bottom. Not much selection in the sweet bakery goods. It is so much nicer now that the older lady has gone she was never friendly and had witnessed her snapping at the staff on multiple occasions. Doug the baker is lovely I always see him interacting...
