Railway Club Hotel — Restaurant in Victoria

I booked a table for 8 for a family together. Meeting in Seymour was central to everybody. Upon entry into the hotel the lady at the bar was very friendly and welcoming. After checking everybody’s vaccination details we settled in for a afternoon. The beer was cold the service was great. 8 main meals were ordered with only 1 complaint. The fisherman’s basket is called that for a reason. It should be served in a basket not on a plate. And it should be fresh ingredients. Not frozen from a box. Very disappointed with that serving. We stopped in for lunch and viewed the menu for what vegan options they have. Only I am vegan, hubby is not. After not seeing any options I asked at the bar as most places will usually advise what they can do. However I was told vegan is too hard to do so no options. Most pubs can manage to have at least one option and my local bistro has about 5 options on the menu so to me this is just laziness. So not only did they lose our lunch time business but when we arrived at friends and they were suggesting places for dinner we easily ruled this place out so they lost a dinner crowd also. Presents more like a pokies den than a pub. Got stranded in Seymour with my dog, pub doesn't allow them in - would have spent money here close to the station while I waited for another train. When I walked in there were no staff around, and when one walked past I immediately got asked if I wanted accommodation and that I wasn't welcome (even in an outside area or at the bar which is customary for most pubs) to sit with a dog. Vibes are about money making instead of country hospitality and service. Pub full of pokies, zero atmosphere. 10/10 would not recommend this pub as a meeting spot or somewhere I would consider returning...
