Today I went into country cakes for a quick coffee, I asked the lady if they do short black coffees? She rolled her eyes and said "yes" in a very of course we do kind of tone. When the coffee was ready I was presented with a long black (short black with water added) - no big deal, easy mistake to make. I asked for it to be remade and the lady happily told me she would remake me a short black. She then tipped out half the long black and gave it back to me. 😂 .. As i didnt have much time and it is only a coffee I just said I don't want it anymore. She said "you won't get a refund" I said "ok"..... The "hello darkness my old friend" song rang out across the bakery floor as I watched her throw my once hopeful coffee cup in the bin (lid not recycled btw) and I left.. Country Cakes made our sons 21st birthday cake. The cake was absolutely amazing. It looked fantastic. I emailed just 1 photo and it was made exactly how I envisioned it, even better! We did not want to cut it! The cake was also delicious (choc mud cake) and the icing was nice, not sweet and sickly like some. Even during COVID19 the staff provided great service and delicious cake. When I telephoned to ordered the cake the day before it was needed, they we clearly busy in the store, but politely and efficiently took my ordered.
