We had a lovely lunch at the Green Olive Traralgon today. Who we assume is the Manager / owner shifted us to a booth to move us out of the busy thorough fair so that was very much appreciated, as they were very busy, so this gave us a little more privacy and the noise and excitement of the birthday parties etc taking place were subdued and not to loud. My husband had the wood fired margarita pizza and devoured it, he said it was delicious, our friend Ian ordered Chicken Princess and the Pea and ham soup, unfortunately his entree soup came out with the mains however am guessing this only happened as he was the only one to order an entree, he still ate both and enjoyed each. I ordered the pea and ham soup as my main and it came with 2 delicious heated small bread rolls; with the melted butter they were the icing on the cake to compliment the soup. The soup was delicious however there was not a pea in site. That one is a mystery for Pea and ham soup, the waitress said she believed they were blended in; however, I could not taste pea. Not complaining it was still a delicious soup. We dine here a couple of times a year and have never had a meal we were not happy with. The staff are attentive, polite and plentiful so you are not kept waiting for anything normally. I would recommend this place to anyone who asked. Great work team Green...
Read moreFunny thing happened at the Green Olive, we ordered something, it didn't arrive then when we asked for our money back I was confronted with there is no receipt so I can't give you your money back. Interesting thing is that when the item was ordered it was offered to put the charge on another table, when we declined, our table number was not asked for. We paid expecting our side order to arrive. I wonder why there was no receipt? When I challenged the response by saying that the person now serving me served the person who placed the order and that others on my table had witnessed the transaction I got, well I could get witnesses too. When I invited the young lady to get her witnesses none were forthcoming. She then proceed to concede and gave me my money back only she gave me $5 too much, when I returned to the register and offered the money back there was not even a thank you from this person who had spent 10 minutes of her valuable time ruining our night. My suggestion to the Green Olive is that if they have complaints policy or a customer service charter that they review it and teach it to their staff so that others are not treated like liars and cheats and have their otherwise pleasant evening ruined. Otherwise the service was good and the other staff pleasant,...

The play area is fully enclosed and has a glass wall so you can keep and eye on your children whilst they play on tube slides. There is a mini cinema room playing children's programs if the kids need some quiet time. There are also a few skill tester machines outside the play area for some added fun.
I enjoyed a Chicken Parma with chips and salad and the chef offered a little pot of gravy on the side when we were ordering. The meals came out timely and hot and our group all seemed satisfied with their choices.
One of the menus available online is out of date, as some of the old favourites like the seafood platter-for-two which are still listed online in the menu preview are no longer available. This left my husband disappointed, but was able to find an alternative menu choice he was happy with.
You need to order your meals directly at the kitchen, but are then brought out and served to you at the table, and drinks including water need to be ordered at the bar at the opposite end of the restaurant.
Overall we had a pleasant evening, with happy children and grandparents. I'm sure we'll be back again...
