High Country Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

All we wanted was a nice ham and cheese toastie and a hot drink. It was the worst toastie I have ever had and I’m in my 70s. It was only 1/2 browned and toasty. The cheese wasn’t even melted the ham was either off or over salted. My med cup of tea came in a 1/2 filled large cup. With no apology or reasons. While sitting there the atmosphere was glum. The floors were filthy the were only worried about who was getting 1st break and was so over priced. Save your money...

Favourite place to stop in Omeo. Staff with a great understanding of Gluten Free (one of the owners/workers is Coeliac and has a dedicated cooking area for us). Had a Gluten Free Chicken Souvalaki. Pretty straightforward sort of place, but my memory is the pies made on premises. These should be at the Royal Show. I had the Pepper Beef. Stacks of filling with light, crisp pastry that didn't dominate the pie. And there's a neat little balcony out the back for a serve of fresh mountain air...
