I had lunch there on Sunday afternoon. The customer service was great especially the lady taking orders at the front. We waited an hour to get our food which was no issue as we were informed before ordering. One of us ordered lamb curry on the menu but he gat a chicken curry instead. He mentioned he ordered lamb, and then the waiter took it back. After a while, he was served the same chicken curry. I mentioned to a young gentleman when he was cleaning our table. He said lamb curry might be taken out from their menu. He said he will check it and let me know but he never did and that's not acceptable. We saw it on the menu and also on your website and paid for it which is more than chicken curry. I think you need to train your staffs at least knowing what's on the menu. Also, the salad on the side of chicken schnitzel as well as fish and chips had...

A VERY good night out , despite one problem ; the kitchen is a work in progress , which the staff freely admit , but in all other respects the evening was truly memorable in a venue being rebirthed by an inspired team , and to be fair , the food was well-priced . The current mob have had the pub for eighteen months , we were told , and - in fairness - as far as the fare goes , are clearly still seeking the right formula in a tiny town replete with hospitality venues . Excellent friendly polished service , good planning , a surprising array of afficionado liquor ( an exciting display of " stickies " ) and crafted interiors made for a truly enjoyable evening . All thanks to Franz , we were told . Regrettably , Franz was not in evidence to be complimented . More power to you , Franz ! Alles...

My first time here based on a recommendation but I was a little disappointed. Food was good to average overall and prices are reasonable. Parmigiana and kids cheese burger were fine, but smoked duck salad was drenched in a sickeningly sweet ‘Asian’ dressing. Whatever it was didn’t taste very Asian to me but salad was nice otherwise. I feel like the menu could mix pub classics with a few more daring choices. Dining room lacked any distinctive atmosphere and honestly you could be sitting in a pub in outer suburban Melbourne, there was none of that country town ambiance I was expecting, nor was there any sense in the dining room decor of the pub’s long history, which is a real shame. Staff were pleasant. Just very...

Sunday of Kings Birthday weekend. Stopped in for the Sunday roast. $30 including a drink (beer, wine, soft drink). Two wedges of beef, roast carrots, potatoes, peas and pumpkin. And two small Yorkshire puds. And a tiny pot of gravy. Very delish and just the right size. They have renovated the hotel nicely since it was the Plough. Only advice would be the outdoor seating area (we sat inside on this cold day) could do with a better cover for those with dogs. It was quiet when we got there at 11:45am but within 20-30 minutes the bistro was packed. Service was excellent and they should be congratulated on that as well.

A random choice when we went for a drive. Great choice. Staff, service, food, ambience very good to excellent. We took advantage of the weekday lunch special $22.50 choice of a bistro classic dish with a glass of "good" Swan Hill wine or beer. We purchased a 2nd glass. We had Nasi Goreng and chicken burger. Best Nasi Goreng I have eaten in years. We shared a Chocolate Mousse @ $10.50. Seriously, if you don't have anything else, you just need to order the Chocolate Mousse. Delicious does not adequately describe the taste. Wonderful iconic country town.

Reasonably priced and decent food at this venue. It was good to have a few vegetarian options to choose from. Our experience improved towards the end of the dinner. The arancini balls were below average however the salad leaves were dressed in a beautiful olive oil dressing. Vegetarian lasagna was quite decent. The sticky date + butterscotch sauce and the ice cream were the highlight. I'll try the Chocolate mousse when I'm in the area next time. Service was quite slow and lacked attentiveness.
