If you’re in Trentham during the week, don’t miss Trentham General’s fortnightly ā€˜locals dinner’ on a Thursday night. It’s exceptionally good value at $65 for three courses and wine by the bottle, glass or $40 for the wine pairing. Our salmon pate entree with sourdough, pickles and radish was a relaxing way to start and non-fish eating husband was served delicious house-made hummus instead. (No photo of this as it was so yummy I forgot). For mains two of us had the pork (who knew bacon jam existed and was so delicious?!) and one the lamb. Both were excellent. The dessert was gorgeous, wine pairings excellent and service as usual friendly, accommodating and attentive without hovering. Trentham locals, we know how lucky we are to have TG in town and their sister wine bar/pizzeria Mr Peacock.

Trentham General is an absolute MUST! 🌟 It’s got a super cosy vibe that just makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. The staff are so friendly, you’ll feel like you’ve known them forever šŸ¤—. But the real star of the show is the food! I had the fluffiest French toast with spiced apple, perfectly poached rhubarb, and accented with lemon curd, honey, and oat crumble. I’m not kidding; it was HEAVEN on a plate! šŸ˜ Each bite was a burst of flavour, and the textures were spot on. If you want a breakfast spot with food that’ll make you want to dance in your seat, this is it! Amazalicious coffee too with a velvety smooth crema ā˜•. Trust me; you NEED this place in your life!

The Trentham General is an absolute delight from the food, the quality customer service, decor and such an incredible menu. The only dilemma is trying to choose what to eat because so many menu items sound to die for. We had the chilli scramble, banana bread and some magnificent little treats with our amazing coffees. The lemon curd friand and carrot cake are baked in house and truly they were out of this world delicious. Cannot wait to come back and try more things- The porridge, the chat potatoes....so much I'm keen to try!!!

Wish I could give ZERO !!!!!

Attitude and customer service is down the drain. The manager has no intentions to work towards a resolution or make an offer to settle things down. No capacity to receive feedback. When you criticize their service or product, they don't take it well at all. They walked off and refused to listen. They don't apologise, no offer of any sorts to make the customers happy.... OUTRAGEOUS. IRRESPONSIBLE. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Be careful, they don't replace the product if you're dissatisfied unless you pay again for your new order!!!! Even if you have returned the order and didn't have a sip of it. WHAT KIND OF ATTITUDE IS THIS???

All staff are arrogantly proud of themselves and the customers satisfaction has no definition to them.

We had to leave the cafe without all our orders coming to our table. They didn't even offer to pay the remainder of orders that were never received. Instead they opened the door for us. KARMA of what you've charged us for your milky chai lattes and other coffees will return to you, badly.

Don't pay the order in the beginning because then there is no refund.....

Will NEVER return. Will tell our families and friends not to drop by.

Suggestions for the rude manager and his staffs, change your attitude, take some courses on customer service and have some respect for people when they...

Firstly, I understand the current social distancing and limited capacity rules.

Secondly, It was the Sunday of Queens birthday long weekend. Busy everywhere.

Now, We were a group of 4 adults (1 of the ladies is pregnant) with 3 kids under 4. We asked for a table and were told to wait 10 minutes outside. The weather was near freezing, us adults could stand the cold and slurry coming down but the children were very uncomfortable. A queue of walk ins were forming and 3 groups of 2 were let in before us and ZERO effort was made to acknowledge us, tell us we’d be seen to soon, or even make eye contact with us. So the kids stood out the front freezing and eating potato chips and mandarins. After half an hour the pregnant woman went in to ask if there was any progress and she was told the cafe was at capacity and they didn’t have a timeframe for us. Furious, we promptly left knowing we’d never attempt to patron this spot again and tell others don’t bother either.

I’d give a ZERO if I could since the care and hospitality was near the...

A very well presented cafe. Excellent rooms with nice options for seating in an old bank. Trendy menu and graphics. The front door greets one with with the sign: "Coffee First". However as the front of house consists simply of the owner (and one waitress), the coffee takes over 10 minutes to arrive. This is because the owner is the greeter, the sitter, the cash register person and also the barista! Then, by the time the order taking arrived, the time passed 1130 and one item (one alone) on the breakfast menu had an 1130 deadline! It's deadline was to ensure you went to the lunch menu (although all other items on the breakfast menu remained). The owner said they were out of Hollandaise sauce and it would take 45 minutes anyway! Other tables were grumpy about the coffee service also.

Great spot spoiled by very...
