JJs Cafe — Restaurant in Victoria

honestly couldn’t even tell you about the food. knew the owners before these guys and it was great so use that information to figure out how it tastes.

we called up for a reservation on mother’s day, understanding it would be busy, making a reservation NORMALLY reserves a seat for you. apparently not here!! we walk in hoping to have some waffles for lunch, but instead we’re told there’s no room unless we want to go have a seat outside in the cold.

honestly just not worth it. if you own a restaurant/business/cafe whatever realistically reservations RESERVE a seat for you.

don’t go assuming i know nothing im talking about as i’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 5 years.

might come back, might not come back, can’t be too great if you can’t place a reserved sign...

One of my favourite cafes; my kids love it. The food is always high quality and generously portioned, and thoughtfully presented with plenty of garnishes to make the kids light up with excitement — cookies and cream waffles, s’more pancakes, banana foster crepes — the kids love them all. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and are always cheerful and chatty with children — it’s such a lovely and family-friendly cafe. Coffee and tea is good quality too and there’s plenty of savoury options for the grown-ups without a sweet tooth. Indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views over the waterfront, and the playground just across the road for the kids to work off their sugar rush. On warmer days there’s a water bowl outside for any passing dogs. Always a lovely Saturday...

AVOID. the owner was rude, the staff were fine but the owner is super rude. The other cafes were packed and Waffle on in was empty. That should have been our first clue. The food was mid. Didn’t get the extras I ordered and paid for (baked beans on the side, just didn’t get it) The coffee tasted sour. The owner brought our food out and every interaction we had with him/her ?
