I've heard only positive reports about Olive at Loch and was finally able to visit it myself for late lunch. It was so lovely, with a wonderful, country style interior, creating a warm, friendly and interesting atmosphere in which to enjoy a meal. I felt completely content eating on my own. My Beef and Ale pie with tomatoe chutney, salad and light dressing was so delicious! The pastry was light, delicate and the pie was absolutely full of yummy beef. I enjoyed the salad too and my chai tea to finish. I ate indoors, but the outdoors is also well protected and was being well used. Parking is good in the street and you won't have any trouble finding this absolute treasure. Give it a try, just head in through the green door, it's certainly worth the pleasant drive.

Oh my goodness, what a find!! I stumbled across Olive at Loch by chance and I've been excited ever since! This is definitely my new favourite place for whenever I'm anywhere near the Loch area. ( or even when I'm not in the area I'll go out of my way to visit!). This place has lots of areas to explore, then sit down and take it all in. It's filled with atmosphere, a great vibe and interesting bits and pieces. I was quite overwhelmed by all the amazing homemade goodies I found available as I opened the door to discover what Olive at Loch was all about. The staff were super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I highly recommended Olive at Loch but just hope I can manage to find a seat again next time seeing its so popular.

The travel guide said we should stop at the town of Loch for their range of antique shops and cafes. Only one shop and two cafes were open on a Monday. We decided to try this quirky looking cafe. May have done better across the street. Ordered from their specials board a sandwich of turkey, brie and cranberry sauce to SHARE, as well as a pot of tea to SHARE. Took our seats and the counter lad came out and told us they don't have any turkey. So why is it on the specials board? Got him to replace the turkey with chicken, which was tasty. They didn't understand the concept of sharing - I had to ask for a 2nd plate to share our sandwich, then a 2nd set of cutlery, then a 2nd tea cup, then a 2nd saucer ... sigh.

I went into Olive in Loch today. Granted, it was 3 o’clock but the door said open so I went in. The girls were wrapping everything and cleaning things ready for tomorrow, but as I said the door said open I asked for a coffee, but the machine had already been cleaned, which is fair enough. There was many sandwiches and quiches in the display cabinet. I asked if I could have a toasted sandwich and again the machine had been cleaned which I understand so I asked if I could take a sandwich home and put it in my own sandwich press. The lady was extremely rude and said sorry everything has been wrapped and if we kept serving people we would never get out of here All I wanted was a sandwich to take home and cook it myself, and it only would’ve taken pulling one tray out lifting a bit of glad wrap, putting a sandwich in a bag For me to cook when I got home But it was far too much trouble to unwrap a tray grab a sandwich put the glad wrap back over it and close the display cabinet. It’s not just that it wasn’t possible….It was the attitude of the short blonde lady that was clearly in charge. She was extremely rude and my boyfriend who is quite placid also thought her attitude was disgusting. The food there is lovely but the service was terrible as we weren’t asking for anything Out of the ordinary just a sandwich to take home and cook ourselves. Maybe they should turn the open sign to closed when they’re wrapping sandwiches and not let people walk through the door and be treated with...

If you have a mask exception don't come to the place. On Saturday the owner vilified my wife because she has a medical condition that inhibits her from wearing a mask, which is ligit and signed off by a medical professional.

The owner proceeded to do the following.

Ask her to put a mask on - no issue at all, to which my wife explained she has a medical exception. Owner asked to see her medical exception, which is in it self a big issue and against health directions and not required to enter a public place. When this was refused yelled at my wife (as I heard this out side), no mask no service get out of the store!, mind you this was in frount of my 6 year old son!

We then left the store..... while many onlookers sat there in shock.

This blokes attitude absolute discrase, there was no effort to work the situation out just came to his own conclusion and started yelling.

I understand it is his right to refuse service. However, the way this was done was horrible. Don't know if he thought we were from Melbourne, who knows he never asked! If he did he would have found out we were regional.

In summary if you , partner, family member or friend has medical exception, by the way this guy acted your not welcome here!

Scratch this place off the list which is a shame the food is...

Came in this morning with the intention of purchasing some take away food. We walked in (once we deciphered which door was the actual entry door) & while browsing the food in the cabinet a lady infront of us was being served. We decided between ourselves what we were going to purchase & turned sideways to face the lady serving. She took one look at us & walked off. The lady making coffee semi acknowledged us but she was busy on the coffee machine which was fair enough. The other lady just stood off to the side discussing random stuff with someone else & didnt bother to even acknowledge us or the shop starting to fill behind us. We stood there for a good 3 minutes or more before i looked at my husband who i could see was thinking the same as i & said to my husband 'what do u want to do?' The lady then acknowledged the people behind us so we promptly left... 🤷🏼‍♀️ there was no prices anywhere except for a small menu that was eat in. If it had of been $11.50 take away for a simple pie or sausage roll as it was priced on that menu then we still would have been leaving...
