Riddells Creek Bakery — Restaurant in Victoria

I recently visited Riddells Creek Bakery as part of the Macedon Ranges Pie Trail last weekend as the first stop of the day, and I can’t stop thinking about the amazing treats I had!

First, the Apple and Rhubarb Pie was absolutely divine. The pastry was perfectly crumbly but held together beautifully, and the filling was a superb blend of apples and rhubarb – not too sweet, just perfect!

The Custard Tart was another highlight. It had a lovely soft, jiggly texture and the balance of flavors was spot-on. The dusting on top made it just pop with the right amount of sweetness.

And I can’t forget about the Coffee – hands down the best I’ve had outside of Melbourne in a long time. It was smooth, well-roasted, and they served it just right, warm but not burning hot, so I could enjoy it straight away. It was exactly what I needed to keep me going through the day!

I have been going to this bakery a few times now to give it a chance, however like every time I felt like the experience coming here was really shocking and shameful. This was in a quiet day by the way and nobody was there. At the beginning entering the store I was not greeted rather given a mean stare by a couple of women (red/ blonde hair girl and a older woman) at the store and was completely ignored. I felt really uncomfortable and unwelcome at the store. Furthermore when I tried asking question about the food I was right away given attitude and shun away by the workers. I recommend to please have training on customer service as I don’t see any from my experience at the store and I’ve been here a couple of times and had the same experiences by other workers. Food very poor quality and very Overpriced. Went in late on a Sunday for a bite to eat, purchased meat/veg pastie, small custard tart, pack of 6 mixed biscuits and medium coffee, charged $28.00 questioned how much biscuits were and was told $9.00, so the balance of $19.00 was for the coffee, pastie and custard tart. No prices on anything, which I think is wrong and lazy, it’s not hard to have/use a chalk board. Coffee was lukewarm, pastie was cold and had so much pepper, that I couldn’t eat it.
