We took a mate here for his birthday last week, and I must say I was very impressed. From the starters clean through to the desserts, everything was delicious. We started off with prawn skewers, a baked camembert, and a garlic bread. All three were absolutely yum. For mains, we ordered two scotch fillets and a porterhouse. The two scotch were cooked to a perfect medium. My porterhouse was slightly overcooked for a medium rare, but was still amazing, especially when paired with the blue cheese sauce! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake and a sticky date pudding, and both did not disappoint. Finally, even though the food was all exceptional, it still was not the best part of the meal. The service was absolutely faultless. When I mentioned my steak being slightly overcooked, the server immediately apologized and asked if I would like another one cooked up, even though I had already eaten half the steak. I declined the offer because as I said, it was still beautiful. After that, they gave me a free glass of wine and the table a free orange dessert thing. While both were appreciated, neither was necessary. When we left, we felt completely satisfied and in awe of both the food and service. It is a bit more expensive than what we usually pay, but it was very reasonable based on the quality of the entire experience. We will be back very soon and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great...
Read moreBooked into the Steak House for a group of eleven. The restaurant made a mistake regarding table proximity when interpreting the Covid restrictions and told us they could accommodate our group as requested. All clearly documented in the message chat. Mistakes happen but the representative who I spoke with via Messenger and the manager of the restaurant both abjectly refused to apologise for their mistake. And after continuously referencing the restrictions, which we had no problems with in the first place, they never took any of our contact details. Our group were all polite and wary of what a difficult period hospitality has had to endure for the past eight months. The staff, other than the manager, were delightful. The meals were lovely. The manager of the restaurant was so extraordinarily rude we thought we might be part of a candid camera set up. From the moment we arrived till the moment we were abruptly asked to leave, she treated us as if we were hosting a Vegan conference. Thank you to the other wonderful staff who waited on us all night and compliments to the chef on the wonderful...
Read moreDecided to go to Squires Loft as a treat on our last day for a steak. We ordered a well done steak and belly pork. Told no potatoes but could have chips? Asked for corn instead of chips which was cheaper but told No. Chips or salad. Went with the chips. The meals arrived. My friend cut into her steak which was so rare the blood run out. We returned the steak and asked for the veg to be returned as it would of been cold when the steak was returned..I cut into my belly pork , it was freezing cold!. I returned the pork and was told it had been on the cooker for 20 minutes..obviously forgotten to turn the gas on. The chap doing the cooking seemed to confused with our complaint. (Sorry can't call him a chef). We'd waited for the meal only to be served up with this very I adequate meal. The waitress and cook! Stood having a conversation rather than putting things right or apologising. Decided to leave and go elsewhere. ...
