Wow this place!!! Let me set the scene right...
Ballarat must have run out of water and food, and the only place left to eat and drink was right here... I watched drinks the size of kiddy swimming pools pouring out of the bar at a staggering rate which were accompanied by a sombrero for the drinker, I watched customers stagger to the toilets after making short work of multiple kiddy pool sized rainbow coloured drinks at a blistering speed, and I have never ever seen food flow from a kitchen with precision and quality, like that which I saw at this tiny little Mexican masterpiece. Seriously, I've eaten at small places before, but this place is off the hook, the food was wonderful, it was cheap and worth so much more, the atmosphere was a little bit hectic, but added to the crazy vibe of the place, and the smells from the kitchen just made me want to try everything on the menu. My wife and I had some miniature feast, and we waited no more than 5 minutes before our entrées were brought out, but I'm sure we had polished off 3 drinks before then. Ok, so food was epic, atmosphere was popping, drinks were way too tasty and quick to refill themselves lol, but the thing that stood out most, was the service, it was the best I have ever experienced, for such a small place that had every seat filled, we were fussed over like we were the only people there. Thanks Taco Bill, can't wait to be in Ballarat again for another 5 star experience... Just need to convince the wife that 2500 klms isn't too far to go for good Mexican food and a...
Read moreTonight I (attempted to ) eat at the Taco Bill in Ballarat. I ordered the enchilada Grande with chicken. According to the menu it was to be topped with their house made tomatillo sauce, and the inside was chicken, cheese and chile. Mine did not taste like chicken to start with. But the amount of cheese that was melted on the top of it made me sick looking at it. It was far too much!! When I said I didn't enjoy it the lady done the right thing and got the manager or owner to discuss to me. Instead of him listening to my thoughts, he jumped in and spoke over the top of me to basically say if I didn't like cheese I should of ordered something with more meat . The menu did not tell me it was served with melted cheese all over the top of it. When I eat Mexican I would order the enchilada at least 90% of the time and I have never experienced it like this. Not only did I think my meal was terrible and look like something I wouldn't serve to anyone!! The service the manager/owner was incredibly disgusting and I can promise you I will not be returning nor will I have any good feedback to give on the place. Rating you one star is still too much for my experience at Taco...
Read moreIt’s 3am and I’m laying on the bathroom floor vomiting and sweating profusely because this restaurant does not care about customers who advise of specific allergies… I ordered and on the phone I made sure the staff knew I’m allergic to capsicum, I made sure to ask is there 100% no capsicum in any of the food, they guaranteed there is none. Got the food, inside my taquito: 2 large slices of capsicum. That’s it. No sauce no cheese just capsicum which we specifically said I am allergic to…. So we called again and told them and heard the staff asking the chef about it, he said there is no capsicum in anything else only that. I had already eaten a small amount of the enchilada but as soon as I found the capsicum I stopped eating. The chef did not offer to replace my food or anything and deliberately lied and ignored a serious dietary restriction on the order! How absolutely ridiculous!!! Will never...
