How Rude, one star is too generous! We ordered 2 egg & bacon breakfasts which were served with over cooked bacon which was so hard you were unable to pierce it with a fork, I used my hands to pick up the bacon and attempted to bite it then returned it to my plate.

I went to pay the bill and after not getting a single response from the waitress that removed our plates at the table, I mentioned the bacon was not edible, for two serves that was $10.

The manager/owner came charging out of the kitchen leant over the register into my face and aggressively told me quite loudly there was nothing wrong with the bacon and proceeded to remove the $10 charge from my bill and then continued to tell me there was nothing wrong with the bacon! Already shocked and felt like I was being called a liar, I asked if she ate off my plate and to my disgust she responded with “yes I did actually for quality control!!” OMG!!! I used my hands and placed it in my mouth then she openly admitted she ate from my plate. OMG!! We are in the middle of a pandemic and this woman is eating from a customers plate.

Still shocked I paid the bill and went to leave, she stormed towards the door, right into our personal space and opened it whilst still arguing about the bacon telling us not to come back.

Never in my life have I experienced such a rude aggressive response to a legitimate complaint in any restaurant setting, at no stage was I loud or rude to her or any other staff.

AVOID at all costs, if she’s eating off customers plates I can only imagine how she values hygiene and COVID safety.

Overpriced for firm reheated poached eggs which were still cold in the centre!

There are better places in Ballarat to eat, give your money to another appreciative small business...

Don’t even waste your time or money. The food was as expected from a venue with this vibe (nothing exceptional, but good), but the customer service left a bad taste in our mouths. We could over look the dry and cold nature of the waitresses we had, the worst was the barista. After noting we had milk missing from our coffee order, I approached the counter and patiently waited for them to ask about the missing milk. The barista looks up and glares at me, not asking or saying anything, just waiting. When I said that we had some milk missing she said our order was coming (when the coffee had already arrived) and I noticed a milk sitting on the bench and asked if that was ours. In response, she snatches the milk and storms over to our table and puts it down. I’m still waiting at the counter. She comes back, not even addressing me. I return to the table in disbelief. We then hear her making remarks about the second part of our order, then also berating her fellow staff in a very public manner - so public that our toddler heard and repeated the remark to us (anyone with a toddler knows they repeat anything they hear).

Given that all their low reviews are in line with horrible customer service, you’d think that they would have changed by now. They only reason they get the foot traffic they do is because of Google.

If you’re looking for a delicious breakfast, scrap this place and go to Hydrant. The food there is remarkable, the coffee is delicious and the actual venue is large and...

I’m up visiting the Ballarat area for the weekend, and even though I’m not from around here, Yellow Espresso made me feel like a welcomed regular from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing — warm, lively, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and looked after.

The food was fantastic — fresh, delicious, and clearly crafted with care. The service was spot-on too: friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help with anything. You can tell the team here really loves what they do.

And the coffee… wow. Without question some of the best I’ve had in a long time — smooth, rich, and perfectly made. I was already planning my next visit before I even finished the cup!

If you’re in Ballarat, whether you’re a local or just passing through like me, do yourself a favour and stop into Yellow Espresso. This little gem has definitely left a big...

Was worried we wouldn't be able to get a seat as the cafe was so busy and there was a line to get take away. Turns out, we didn't have to wait, as the friendly staff managed to squeeze us onto bar seating. I think I ordered a BLT and my husband got beans(?) with a side of bacon (visited here in Nov 2017 and I only now remembered to write this review) and coffees for the both of us. Wow. Just WOW. My sandwich was so bloody good, I usually never order sandwiches for breakfast/brunch but something told me to order the BLT that day. No regrets. SO GOOD. My husband was surprised by the large portion of side bacon and it was inexpensive! Some brunch places charge you a stupid amount of money for a slice of side bacon, but not this place. Look at the picture, that plate of bacon was a side order, and it was cooked the way we like it - crunchy. Oh, and the coffee was awesome!

Definitely the best coffee shop ever in the area. So many variety of menu from different countries. Latte variety also the best ever. The menu basically suit everyone. Love the matcha and golden latte for sure. The uses local coffee beans from Axil coffee, which is one of the best in Melbourne. They also offer variety of milk options. Love all the egg variety menu, baked egg is definitely the best. New skool smash also very good, egg bunny too. All eggs are cooked with runny yolk, perfect skills. This cafe definitely one of the most busiest cafe, esp. On weekends. If not arrived when they open, be prepared for the wait in queue. Large groups may wait longer. Staff are very friendly. Love their customer service. Plenty of parking nearby, walking distance from train station. Seating are comfortable
