I’m writing to share my concerns about food poisoning issue. The food from this place sent me to hospital, I had severe abdominal pain and vomiting I cannot even drink any liquid therefore I had multiple injections and stayed in hospital overnight. I was diagnosed with Gastro and food poisoning. Blood test result also show infection. CRP and WCC were both high and heart beats also high. See below pictures i took while staying in hospital. I just reported the food safety to service nsw and food authority for investigation. My partner also had very bad diarrhoea two hours after consuming the food there Tourists watch out this dodgy Italian place. If you don’t want to end up in hospital don’t try. Everything tasted so strange and not fresh. Don’t go there just because you cannot find place in other restaurants. Full story: I ordered a customised pasta with Napoli sauce, cherry tomatoes, and prawns, but several prawns were undercooked—watery and visibly raw near the head. This raised serious food safety concerns, and I couldn’t finish the dish because it made me feel unwell. I informed the waitress, but the issue didn’t seem to be taken seriously. Since I feel sick about it I didn’t let her take it back it is no point to do so. At checkout, I was charged for the Marinara price, which I found unfair given that the dish was not properly cooked. Mentioning the undercooked prawns again also didn’t prompt any meaningful response. She even rolled her eyes when I talked about the raw prawn issue. I hope you will take this feedback seriously, especially when it comes to food safety and customer concerns. You never know if a woman is pregnant when consuming prawns in pasta. I ended up buying a few snacks from Coles next door to complete my dinner for the night…

My partner and I dined at La Vespa during the week in the off season. The town in general wasn’t very busy and there were a few other customers. We were welcomed into the restaurant and had a choice of tables. The staff were very helpful with recommendations upon request and happy to share some good tips for our time in town. The meals were beautifully presented and came out very quickly. The food was fresh and delicious with some interesting twists rather than a very traditional Italian menu. I can recommend the Nocina pasta - it was our favourite dish of the night. The restaurant has a very warm and cozy feel and you forget that it is part of the small shopping centre. I would definitely recommend you stop by on your travels.

If you want a restaurant with a family feel, amazing handmade food, delicious fresh made dessert, great service and authenticity then look no further. La Vespa Italian is affordable, incredible and accomodating!! We will be back when we’re back up again!! Great location with lots of parking and outside under cover you can take your dog with! They even bring water for your pooch! My parents are gluten free and they went out of their way to make everything gf for them (except my pasta because I am not gluten free). We ate here a few times and did take away also.

Our experience at La Vespa was regrettably subpar. Despite a promising start with the entree, which unfortunately arrived cold with un-melted cheese in the arancini balls, the overall quality further deteriorated. Our mains were delayed by 40-50 minutes, and both pasta dishes lacked proper seasoning. The prawns exhibited a frozen quality, had a distinct fishy taste, leading me to question their freshness. The meatballs were disappointingly cold in the center. Consequently, we opted for an alternative dining choice at a Thai restaurant due to lingering hunger, and I advise against considering La Vespa for your dining needs.

On a positive note, the standout element of our visit was the commendable service provided by a young staff member. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of the team, who appeared inattentive and somewhat disgruntled.

Reply: While I appreciate your apology, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience. The challenges faced on a busy night with limited staff does not excuse the subpar quality of the food. It's concerning that, despite your assurance of fresh ingredients, my experience resulted in feeling quite ill, and I even threw up after the meal. It's important to address and improve upon such feedback rather than emphasising the usual positive reviews. I hope you consider this input for enhancing the dining...

I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at La Vespa in Vincentia left me no choice. I was looking forward to dining here based on some recommendations, but unfortunately, it turned out to be an incredibly disappointing experience.

The food was underwhelming, to say the least. The pasta was overcooked and flavorless, and the sauce tasted like it came straight from a can. The quality and presentation of the food did not come close to matching the prices charged.

What made the situation worse was the owner's attitude when I politely tried to provide feedback. Rather than accepting the criticism constructively or even acknowledging my concerns, the owner became defensive and argumentative. To my shock, they dismissed my comments entirely and even resorted to offensive remarks.

It’s one thing for the food to miss the mark, but the lack of professionalism and respect for customers is what truly ruined the experience for me and my family. Dining out should be a pleasant experience where customers feel valued, even if there are shortcomings. Unfortunately, at La Vespa, this was far from the case.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good food and good service. There are far better options in Huskisson that truly deserve your...
